I can see there are some specialist here...

--> You're right : No links, no T !!!

The rear suspension is inspire from the Hara Hammer and the very old HPI Roadstar... Excuse me but it's quite difficult to explain it by words. If you know these cars, you will be able to see how it's work.
--> And we hope it will works !!!

Here is some pics to explain the "no links / no T" rear suspension...

--> No play with no excessive friction will be the key of success...

Why offset the battery? It looks as if you could put it down the center. Also, do the springs on the damper tubes adjust tweak? If so, how are they adjusted? One more thing. Is the motor held in with one screw?

The battery is offset to have a better repartition of weight, and to have a wide really strait, only 86mm.
We can adjust tweak by adjusting the lenght of the damper.
The motor is held with 2 screws, on the pics, the second screw is behind the tire...the 2 screws are in the same line.

It's funny really, as I have been running my Hara Hammer 12 at the local club (my reserve car because I have broken my 1st car) and was talking to the guys at the club saying that there was life left in the rear suspension design, as you don't have to worry about tweaking the centre pivot or anything else that you have on a link car! And then this chassis comes along, haha!!

Here's a pic of the original suspension from the Hammer 12 (and HPI Pro10 before that):

There are plastic 2 blocks that go around two rectanglar standoff's. A spring is located on top of each of the plastic parts that gives the side to side movement via a centre pivot. Two seperate pivots on the outside edge give the forward to backward movement. A carbon plate sits above it all which has two tweak screws that press the whole plate down on top of the springs to adjust the tweak. Hope that makes sense!

Anyway, this pic should explain to those interested in the rear suspension design but can't see it on the new car due to the computer drawings.

Great job mate, I was thinking of doing exactly what you have done!

Cheers, Chris.

The problem I had with the original HPI rear suspension was if you didn't have the rear adjusted just right you would either have bind or slop. In this new version it looks like it doesn't have the adjusters around the posts like the HPI had so how do they plan to account for wear and tear?

Ok guys, let me give you some news about the car...

First of all, Julien Jost has decide to join the Legend 12-1 adventure and I am very proud of his choice !!!
--> You have to know, Julien was the French 1/12 Stock 2009-2010 champion and was vice champion at the French 1/12 Stock 2010-2011 championship...

So, with Jérémy, we will have 2 cars on the 2011-2012 French 1/12 Stock Championship !!!

2 test races were already done now and the car feels very impressive : 1° and 2° place at his first race (the third one is also an ALIEN Racing LpL Conversion kit based on the Yokomo R12 !!!).

Heres is some pics to let you see the 2 cars...

Stay tuned...
