Which 235mm car would be better? I'm looking for something that would be pretty competitive, fully adjustable, and durable. I know one of the good things going for the Mugen is its cheap price, but how about it's performance? How does it compare to the serpent? Are there any other 235mm chassis out there that are worth looking at? I already own a FT NTC3, so don't tell me to get a MTX or 710...

Save the money and get something elses. I believe they are consider obselete in terms of racing

Get the Avance... $175 at Nitrohouse last time I checked. Parts are available, Mugen's still got tons, you just have to have a retailer request them. I've had an Impact, previous version of the 835, and it doesn't compare. The Avance's quality is much better, and you can use the current MTX-3, MRX-3 centax clutch and pinions.

yea, I was leaning more toward the Avance because of the great price. At my local hobby shop, they are selling it for $299.99 so there's no question that if I were to get one, it would be from nitrohouse.com I just wasn't sure if it was technologically on the same level as the serpent 835.

I was third in the Florida State series with the avance last season.

It is a great car and I had tons of fun with it. It is a bit heavy , but it goes exactly where you want it to.

There are lots of parts around for it at very cheap prices. You could buy 2 kits and some arms, uprights and other misc . parts for less than $450.00

IFMAR and ROAR have done away with this class. This was the last year for 235s at the ROAR nats.

If u want to play 235mm, you better go for 1/8 or 1/10 ...the running cost of 235 is nearly the same as 1/8. The 235mm almost died for racing. but if you go for 1/10 TC. It's cheaper and a lot of people are playing.

Bring it down to the Forgas State Series Race in LakeLand. You should be able to sell it there. Still a few guys in Florida running this class.

class is still alive in our area,is also much cheaper to run than 1/8.I have both mugen Avance and Serpent 835,the serpent is much smoother to drive than the mugen however it does not accelerate as well,that said I feel much more comfortable driving the serpent. The mugen feels crisper but to me it borders on to fast in steering and more difficult to be smooth,depends on your driving style. In 235 smooth driving pays great dividends.I thought only 235 2wd was dropped as a worlds class.

IFMAR did drop 235 as a worlds class in brazil however it is still a regulated class

Ibstead of dropping the class, they should have made it 4WD Turbo powered Touring car bodied.

Forget the touring car bodies,open .15 engine and promote as entry class. Much easier to drive than touring closer to 1/8 yet much more forgiving and durable.Why put an ill handling body on a very capable car.I believe if 235 is to any appeal it will be on a club level and as such should be relatively inexpensive to run and maintain,reduced tire wear alone would sell me on club racing 235.
