Hello everyone. I'm new to nitro--been racing electric the last few years(T4-BJ4)anyhow I wanted to run something during the summer and picked up a used X1CR, quite a few of my freinds run this car and love it.
My queston is: Is there a benifit to swapping out the original chassis for one of the CNC lightened versions? Has anyone done this? Forgive me if this has allready been addressed----I'm slowly going thru all the info on this thread and have not seen this addressed yet.(117 pages of info on this thread)
Thanks

I highly doubt you would notice a difference between the two chassis.
By the way guys I have bought and tested almost every major buggy that i could find and so far the Jammin is really the nicest. I have tried Losi 8B, Kyosho SP2WC, CEN Matrix and now the jammin. I am putting together an MBX5R and we will see how it fares against the Jammin.

Jim, yes they are the mugen greys. the reds are softer initially and stiffer towards the end of the compression. The Greys are more the same all the way through the compression. Both are good, Taylor James always seems to go fast with the reds. I just like having the option of 2 more springs to work around the greys (meaning the Mugen whites and blues).

I am currently using the Big Bore Mugen grey springs and have found them to be softer than the Jammin Red.
The Jammin Red spring rates are
Front - 0.77 N/mm
Rear - 0.61 N/mm
The Mugen Grey BB springs are
Front - 0.71 N/mm
Rear - 0.58 N/mm
The lower the number the softer the spring.
Here is a link to a web site that you may be interested in.
http://www.nitrohouse.com/tip_spring_chart.htm
Going by the website the Mugen Grey BB springs are rated identically to the Jammin Soft Yellow springs.
Cheers.........Dave
