Default Can a fully hop-up TL-01 beat Yokomo's?

guys you think its posssible that i can beat yokomo's using TL-01? I only what to send a message to the local racers here in RP that winning a race really depend on your driving skills. i just what some advice if it is possible before i throw in the upgrades in the car or i am just wasting my time and money on my project.

won't beat a yokomo, maybe a tc3 or losi, but not a yokomo. Seriously though, if you're a MUCH better driver than the other's then you "might" have a chance. You give those two cars to the same driver and 99% of the people will be faster with the yokomo.

Default up to you!!

its kinda up to if you and the person with the yokomo, if you have the same skills as the person it does matter on what batteries and motors plus a yokomo is made for racing..a tl 01 is kinda of a bashing car...at my local track i have a friend who did beat a yokomo but the person with the yokomo wasnt too good at driving

Depends on how good the guys are you race and how good you are. If its close, the yok should win, but I'd try for fun.

go for it...it's not like you have a nikko or anything...hook up some competitive batteries and a good motor and you should be fine

if you want to compete with yokomos then buy bearings/speed tuned gear set/21pinion/23 pinion/toe in rear hubs and get a esc the fastest motor you can get is like a 23 turn but if you rally yours like i do after a while itll start to make a grotty noise even louder than it is out of the box.......................if thats posible

Hi,

Over at my side, I ever saw a TL 01 goes extremely fast against the TA 04 and the TB 02 in the Tamiya race. the driver came in third in that race full of 04 and 02. The driver of the TL 01 basically knows what he is doing cos his car is only hop with the things that he needs.

My personal experience is that the TL 01 is a pretty difficult car to drive, therefore I felt that it will be a real disadvantage for you to use a TL 01 to prove your point, maybe can use some other cheaper but easier handling cars to try.

a TT01 should be a lot better low CG, better weight distribution, simpler transmission

I was wondering how this car was compared to other chassis

If you wanted to beat the yok with a cheap car try a tb-02. It has some realistic tuning options and a better drivetrain.

But... yes you could beat the yok with the tl-01 but it would be difficult and the cost in extra bits to make it fast (only the bits that make it faster) then you are paying for a pro level car with little tuning options. Its not really worth the trouble..

Get a tb-02 to play with and out-of-the-box it should have the potential to be competitive.

Hi,

Just speaking what I know about the TT 01. Basically, this car is very good to drive from stock silver can to max jap stock 23 turns motor. Anything lower than that, the gears might have problem like melting out. There are also quite alot of illegal modification that can make this car go faster.

Anyway, this is only my experience and I simply love driving the TT 01 more than my TL 01.

FYI, in the recent offroad series held in JP raceway, the rally class championship final standings was 1-2-3 sweep by TL01s. but that's in offroad
