IFMAR. I like starting heads up for the main (what would be the point of an IFMAR start in a main?) but I think the IFMAR starts give everyone a better shot at a clean qualifier.

Club races - Heads up

You get more practice passing cars that are equal to you in speed and get more practice dealing with packs of cars.

Big Races - Ifmar all the way.

Around here (NorCal) we do Heads-Up all the time, everywhere. Its supposed to build driver skill but in my heats thats just more cars that are able to take me out (And...ironically enough, they do!)

I'll race either way...but IFMAR style gets my vote

IN 19 turn, Mod & Expert Stock its really no problem...but in Novice and Stock (I'm a stock boy) its a real problem

In mains its really not a problem (because the field usually gets seperated well enough from A to B) but in the heats...it can get hairy

We use IFMAR for qualifying and heads up for mains also. Qualifying is just that its not a race. Its nice to be spread out. Thats the idea anyhow. Ive seen a slow start where the last guy to go is about to get lapped by the first guy already.

I personally dont like qualifying much. Id rather have heat races and set up the grid for the main that way.
