Front bearing bad?
I've been having issues with my losi burning plugs since I bought it (march this year) and I was told it could be a airleak, and I find a massive leak coming from my front bearing....so I strip my engine and I find that I can clearly see light through my bearing, is this normal
I would post a picture but I'm not allowed yet

I think you can post pictures or links because it's against spambots.
Upload the picture somewhere and post the picture here with http://www. removed from the link.

I would think - if you can see light coming through then yes - its not good.....

Sounds like the bearing is toast...
When I suspect a front bearing is going south and the engine is still together. Get your electrical motor spray out, contact cleaner or whatever you have, put the straw on it and while it is warmed up and idling try to spray behind the flywheel. Not a long blast, just a short little blip of spray, if it kills the engine instantly then your front bearing is letting junk in and needs to be replaced.
Hope this helps in the future

what motor? also, define burning plugs, i think they are supposed to burn. a bad tune will shorten plug life, overheating and rod wear. if the front bearing is bad tuning will be erratic, mystery flame outs and high temps even with good smoke. the sealing for the front bearing is not at the front shield its at the inner rim/crank/case gap. make sure flywheel nut is on tight.

If you can see daylight thru the bearing, change it. Even if its not the only cause of your tuning issues which it is most likely part of it . It will allow dirt / dust to get in.

+1 also a sure sign of a bearing failure is it constantly burning out glow plows as well. ALSO a bearing issue can cause a harmonic vibration that will cause the cooling head fins to break loose from the head as well. I know on my TRX motors when I see the first crack or sign of a cooling fin starting to come off then I replace the bearings. This goes for my race 1/8 motors as well.
