I am new to the jrxs so I have a question on batteries. I have a 4200 pack that I built with no shrink tube around the cells because I have read that they will not fit with shrink tube. I just got another 3700 pack yesterday that I built with shrink tube and at first the 3700 wouldnt evan came close to fitting in the jrxs. So I took out the diff and sanded off some material from the bulkheads. I put the car back together and checked if the pack would fit and it did. But the 3700 fit tight and my other packs fit perfect now. So my question is should I sand off a little more from the bulkheads to get the 3700 to fit better? Thanks guys.

You shouldn't need to sand the bulkheads, it weakens them. Checkout the Losi website http://www.teamlosi.com/jrxs-page/tr...ip%20index.htm . Make sure you have the alum battery tray. Checkout JRXS.com for some well written writeups how to make the bigger batts fit.

I see you mentioned you removed the heat shrink from the 4200's but somtimes cells have 2 lots of heat shrink (not sure why) check to see if this the case. I personally have 8 packs of GP 3700's and 5 packs of IB 4200's and have never encountered this problem that arises from time to time. Do you glue your cells prior to soldering the bars on? if you do, then there maybe a gap making the cells be to long in total. What I would do before building the cells, is to tape all 6 cells together to see if they fit ok before assembling them, that way you do not waist your time and get frustrated in the process. As the guy in the previous mail say's NEVER sand the bulkheads as they WILL weaken them. hope this is of some help

I put a new set of bulkheads on after you told me sanding them weekins them. the 4200 is just built with battery bars and no clue or shrink tube. I clued the 3700 together first then soldered the bars on. I have the alum. battery tray. The 3700 fits snug and the 4200 fits pefect now.

Just wondering would an 80watt soldering iron be hot enough to re-assemble my packs. I need to take the shrink wrap off them so there isn't a bow in my battery tray.
