That would be great. I just bought a XXX-S G+ about 2 weeks ago, but I would get that JRXS for sure.

Heh, the motor is behind the layshaft....and its saddle packs...

Where is the copy? Because it has two belts that are highly offset?

The front diff design loosk similar too.

All in all the JRXS has obviously taken ideas from this car aswell as many other probably and made it into their own. Its the way things have always developed.

I don't think they copied a thing. As a designer you start with the concept (batteries, motor and servo in the center of the car) then design around that.

There's no way you can place the belts farther toward the center unless you placed the layshaft higher. In order to have a centeralized design, while maintaining low CG, you need to have the diffs offset like that.

I agree, however a designers inspiration can come from previous work.

Whats to say mr Losi engineer didn't go...

1. We want centralised batteries
2. What has already done that design?
3. Lets make it better

Its a natural progression within the industry.

Take a look at the XRay, Corally, Robitronic etc... they have been very much based on some groundwork done by Hong Nor. its just a case of refining the idea to make the ultimate race car

As I've said before I'd be interested in seeing it in action. I suspect it will do better in the states than over here in Europe.

Hi Mal
The cocoon is design to placed the servos and the motor in the center of the chassis. Yes ,Of course the battery config is different

I wouldn't say the Losi is a copy cat but it gave the losi some ideal for starting point.

That would be true if they had seen that car before... Who knows...

Anyway the drive belt being offset kind of reminds me of the Streetweapon (xx4, for the offroad guys)... I'm not to sure though since I can't get a clear mental image of what that layout looked like.

I think it is cool and it looks like it will kick asphalt, I got to get back to studying.

and the coccon looks somewhat like the street weapon more than the JRXS

OK Guy's here goes.
I have seen two team drivers run this car and it looked awsome with so much corner speed which has always been a poor factor with the XXX-S. The shocks that was used were Tamiya (not sure what will be the final shocks though)
The concept car was used at West London on tar mac and was put on pole, this team driver lapped everyone bar the second place man who is an associate driver and only missed lapping him from about 20 feet.
I to saw the car at Donnington park, (on carpet) even thogh it suford a little, it was still the fastest Losi there.

With regards to designing any product it is a progresion on the previous product otherwise whats the point.
I was fortunate enough to serve my apprenticship with Rolls Royce in 1973 (yes I know im old) and had seen many many Mercs BMW'S brought in by the drawing department to pinch a little bit of this and that design wise, so yes, it is an idea to see what other products sort of work and make it work for them.
I do hope this does not afend anypne as I felt it needed to be said

Hmm the ova was good idea, just poor quality, over priced and no support, losi obviously got a lot of ideas off this car, but improved it substantially, I wouldn't hesitate to buy the losi.
