Hi Steve

Did you forget about me? Or is Gil Jr. holding out on me? I want to run modified again, so this is a little reminder.

Thanks
Ron

Hey Numan, Give me a call, or shoot me an email when you get a few free minutes. I'm sure you guys are all very busy trying to decide what to do with yourselves. So I don't want to interupt....

Smile XXtra - FM Receiver

I got a few questions that hopefully you might be able to answer.

Quite a while back I had a XXtra receiver lose a channel. It was out of warranty, so I sent it in via Novak's non-warranty service form and paid for the remanufactured unit. Seemed like a pretty good deal at the time.

Now, here's where I screwed up. I left it in my pit box for about 6 months as a spare and was using another one as my primary. When it came time for installation, I plugged it in and SUPRISE, it had the same exact channel out (throttle). I checked it over and over by switching servos but with no luck, same problem.

Now for my questions:

1. I assume since I didn't check it for functionality when I received it that it is now out of warranty again. Is that the case?

2. The receiver looks new, but does exactly what it did when I sent it in. Is there a chance that Novak just slapped a new case on it and sent it back to me?

3. I'm probably a sucker for doing this, but I'm contemplating sending this in again and paying the $35 (plus shipping) for another one. What are the odds of me getting one that actually works?

I'm not trying to be difficult or argumentative, but I am a little disappointed. If you can't help, can you direct me to someone that maybe can.

Thanks,
blkbullitt

blkbulitt:

I don't work in the customer service department, so I don't know if they have this sort of thing happen regularly (people not checking their product as soon as they get it back), so I don't know what they will have to say about it.

There is little to no chance that they simply "slapped a new case" on your previous receiver...just probably a freak accident that the remanufactured replacement wasn't functioning either.

I would recommend calling sometime tomorrow 949-833-8873 and explaining to them what happened and I'm sure someone will get you all taken care of
