Default Losi 8T 2.0 servo saver Help!!! keep breaking servos

Hey guys i have a hitec HS-645MG servo in my losi 2.0 truggy and i cant keep the servo from stipping gears. i dont know if its my servo saver (which i have set by the manual tightening all the way then going out 2 1/2 turns) or if its just the servo being weak itself. I know i should probably get an HS-7950TG servo but i'm afraid if its the servo saver i'll break the gears in that too. here are some weird things it does.

1. with servo arm off and moving steering by hand i can get the servo saver to actuate by hand only when I move it to the left side. moving all the way to the right i cant get the spring to move at all. it seems like the right hand steering is the way that always makes it strip out too.

2. i get quite a bit of steering wobble in high speed turns or accelerating out of turns.

3. the truck seems to push a lot in corners and doesn't seem to turn quite as tight as many others at the track.

PLEASE HELP ME GET THIS THING GOOD! I've heard i should get a losi buggy 1.0 servo saver as the spring is lighter. is this true?

Default Too weak

The Hitec 645MG is rated at 133oz. and .20 speed at 6.0 volts. That is an acceptable servo for a 1/10 2wd. I don't think you could do anything to adjust your servo saver to not break that servo. In my opinion it is just not up to the task. I wouldn't risk one of those on my throttle/brake in my truggy, much less steering. You will easily exceed the cost of a decent steering servo if you chew up two or three of those 645's. You can find Hitec 7954's for around $85 shipped. It's a strong servo with decent speed, well worth it.

If you think there is trouble with your servo saver, disassemble it and inspect it. It may be packed with dirt or a bearing could be seized up. Let us know where you end up.

that servo will go out no matter what, not a good servo for steering, when i started racing a few years back i went through about 8-10 of those servos, then finally was able to afford better.

Hitec 7950TH or 7954SH on steering . The 7945 will work for throttle/brake or steering. It is quite expensive though. Like I said above, you can find 7954SH servos for $85 shipped.

yep, id be willing to bet the servo saver is good to go, i would recommend a savox 1267 or 1268, maybe not the best, but pretty darn good for the price. most guys will say hitec here.

dont know alot about hitec other than i went through a few of the cheap ones, but the MG servos IMO are stronger than the TG servos.

Yep, these are bullet proof, better than any of the HV Hitec servos IMO.

7955 is good for both...... 7954 is good for both... Or if you want to save a few bucks you can run the Hobbico CS-170s same as the Hitec 7955. If your gonna run Savox you need to go high voltage and run 7.4 Lipo. Also make sure you run a aluminum horn for steering once you do get a good servo, if you dont you will go through servo horns everytime you hit somthing.....
