Swb bones are cvd's !!!! I have three niftech shafts( $39.95) in my tc4's (3.5t /7t brushed/4.5hv) , and there is no hint of twisting from hp or torque ever !!! I don't think there are any 540 motors at 2S with more power, and with more torque than a Novak hv4.5 at 4S !!!!!! Maybe the Niftech shafts you purchased were not up to snuff !!!! I have tested them in all conditions, and everything stayed perfect . I did get offered the swb's and the rest of the niftech catalog, but I turned them down : they add alot of weight to the car !!!

Do you have the blue Camaro? If you are planning on running boosted try a 30T pinion for non-boosted you will have to change your spur gear buy Robinson Racing spur 49, 52, or 55T you will need some pinions in the 40's.

Guys also remember the total capable tooth count of the tc4, both lower(89t) and higher(102t) tooth count !!! If you're wondering what I am referring to, please understand that you can't make any size pinion fit with any size spur in the tc4 . If the total tooth count of the pinion added to the total tooth count of spur is less than 89 or greater than 102, then the (pinion/spur) combo will not mesh well ! 89< (pinion+spur)>102 !!!!!!! So a 55t spur will only mesh with pinions ranging from 34t up to 47t !!!!! etc.

I finished 6th, I should changed my gearing after adjusting end RPM on the ESC I was way over geared.

5th aint bad for a maiden run!

You still using the RS Ron?

The best Robinson spur gear for 17.5 blinky would be the 55t spur !!! Gearing from 2.92fdr to 4.04fdr .......

yes, RS pro. I'm still not a big fan of brushless motors / ESC.

I never looked at it that way, but shouldn't the numbers be 87-107? 69/18 and 75/32 those are the numbers from the gear chart.

Thumbs up

The numbers I gave you were from personal testing of all my tc4's ! I did take into consideration that the gear mesh should be as free as possible , with clearly visible space between the gears . Maybe the Ae guys thought differently .The gear chart is probably more for the ft tc4 than the tub version ! My conclusion are a roundabout way of choosing pinion and spur combos that will surely fit nicely ...

If you want to continue to use 48 pitch gears they have nothing smaller then 72T spur. I'm going to put my 72T back on my car for the next race.

Bubblehead, I have a 69 tooth gear for the TC4 that I'll bring to the track next onroad race for you to try. My boy's car had it for a long time before I switched to 64 pitch.

If you cant find the 69 tooth Robinson gear in the Robinson bags at Deb's, check the AE parts boxes. AE sold them as optional for a while... Deb's might have some in stock. Ill see if i can scrounge up a part number. I had a computer crash so im limited on some of that older info...
