Mike--I would just wait for the Yokomo carbon shaft to be released. Its hollow so it should weigh just about nothing. Should be the whip in stock. Don't know how strong it will be for mod though. I remember snaping a few of the old ones in my TC3 running just a 12t.

So Yok is making one specifically for the TC4 and i wont have to switch drive cups or anything?

6.4 grams huh, still, is that lighter than the TC3 shaft? Not that i plan on running anything other than stock, but my TC3 shaft could take a 10t no problem...

Carbon Fiber stuff rules

Default I hope the Team Bomber...

shaft floats more than the stock one. TC4 one seems to bind more in a crash than the TC3 shaft and cups. I went to the TC3 ones so that I could used rubber o-rings.

Hey RcKnight,

Did you try out those carbon fiber shock towers on the TC4 yet?

Hey guys,

My friend who runs the 'C4 (duh!) is thinking of getting a Carbon Upgrade kit but is curious about what to do about the ribs that stick out right where the battery bars are. I looked at and found it kind of weird Assoc. would do that. How do you guys insulate the chassis (aside from a 1/8 in worth of epoxy)

Thanks

Default Yes, I got a rear one....

it's nice, but it flexes forwards/backwards too much for my tastes. Since the body mounts are on the rear shock tower, I think they would flex. They look great, well made though, but the design makes for a thin tower. 3.5 or 4mm would take away any flex, but then that would push the shock angle out on the arm. My two cents. They look great though, but I ditched it. AE needs to make some in a 4mm SSG or tatanium color CF shock tower. It would bring some great "Bling" factor back to the TF TC4. The market wants this stuff, but AE won't pull their head out of the sand.

Default Blackcat....

use chassis protector on the inside where the battery bars touch the chassis. You can cut it out nice and it don't move like black electrical tape.

So you have to put the chassis protector stuff on the battery bars (because the ribs in the chassis prohibit any tape that thick being stuck on)

Default Blackcat what kind of battery bars are you...

using? Use the chassis protector on the chassis. When I made my packs using corrally gold style plugs, I had to use battery bars bent at a 90 degree angle then I sodered the plug to it. Otherwise there is not much room and they touch the chassis.

No, Not where the plug goes....Where the battery bars are down the right side of the battery. Theres are small ribs right where we'd believe it would touch the bars and fry his cells

Default wow...

If I understand it right, you must mount the bars low on the batteries. My battery bars don't touch the web ribs on the lower part of the chassis.
