Fast, is that just regular packing tape with the fiberglass strands that you use?

That it is. You can get the heavier RC tape, but it usually just cost $$. Packing tape with the strand it works good. You just have to make sure you round the edges of the chassis or it will cut the tape in a collison.

Default Jacksmash...

who cares if they do not want to be here. It's their company loss. I want honest people here. They have not been honest about the car. They brought trouble on themselves. I respect Baker/Blackstock, they have been strait forward and helpful.

another way to lose weight, is eliminate battery strap and use tape. That is the heavy side of the car. If you go to the NOVAK race thread and look thru the pictures that were put up, look for Barry Baker car. You will see no strap, no poles that the strap clips too and the chassis is drilled out in front of battery.

I have a question that I hope one of you can help me on. I want to change to 4* caster blocks but the stock hinge pin is too big for it. The stock caster block the pin glides in and out but on the 4* forget it. Is the another size that I need or is there something else I could do? I sort of reamed out the 4* but I went too big and ruined the block. I am using the correct pin because it is the one that came out of the stock block. Any help would be great ly appreciated thank you.

I ran a 3/32" drill bit through the hing pin hole on my 4* caster blocks, using a dremel tool to spin the drill bit. Without doing that, it was an extremely tight fit.

Also, there is definelty NO slop in the suspension, with the new graphite arms. I don't even have any slop in the stock hing pin mounting blocks. I don't see a need to buy the FT aluminum blocks, except for maybe the 2.5 and 2 deg rear blocks.

Yeah Lougabe... everyone has that problem.... AE must create the 0-degree blocks differently.

Do what Stealth says... and remove as little material as possible, any extra and you'll be creating slop.

Another thing about weight is I have heard guys wanting to cut off the longer part of the motor mount/heatsink. That thing is HEAVY. But I that pick of Bakers car, what shocks are those? Those things are sweet.

Those shocks I think are "Associated Hard anodized shock bodies" part #3990

http://www.speedtechrc.com/store/ebp...nid=170&id=249

As for the motor mount heat sink... I'm striving for left/right balance on the car... and since that side of my car is lighter, I don't want to remove "functional weight".... ya know?

The stock TC4 battery strap weighs 12g... anyone know how much the other battery straps weight... especially the blue graphite one?

Hey Bob,

If you started at 1520 grams and...

move to the graphite kit... - 42.5 grams (1.5 ounces)

remove the battery strap - 12 grams

That gets you to 1465 grams. Still 47.5 grams or 1.6 ounces over the limit. Have you removed that lead from the right side yet? I really think balance isn't as important for the car as just being light. At least that was my experience with the TC3.

For comparison....My Pro 4 in race trim for Mikes (we don't enforce a weight limit ) was 1409 and Xrays were averaging 1420ish
