If you refering to the ones in my pictures, that is just a touring car bumper. I cut off everything that doesn't look like a 12th scale bumper and then use those pieces to fill in the triangle holes. Shoegoo the pieces in then form it on a belt sander to the shape you want.
I've been running that about a year and it's pretty hammered, but still works.

take care
john

Dakrat,
The kit is preassembled in 2 pieces... the pod and the main chassis. The other componants that go on the chassis will need screws (ie. front a-arms, t-plate, body mounts....)

hey wayne,

thanks for the setup. I did not see a front toe. The car is just so responsive. I am soo use to the 12l4 and how lazy the car was that I had a hard time adjusting the timing on the corner. It will take me some time to get use to the car, but it is just so much more responsive and carries so much more corner speed. I know I will take to it very quickly.

was not able to put the car in the show in our Texas State race. But hell, I only got 2 packs in before we started racing.

theisgroup,
I run 0 toe in or out. If the car feels to responsive, narrow the width of the front tire 1/16" and put a larger radius on them. In stock you shouldn't have to lift much. When the car is dialed, run it flat punched and crack to 1/2 throttle in a tight turn. It will carry the speed and not get upset in the turn.

you are right. but I was soo use to the 12l4, that I had to lift a little and crank the wheel full lock just to get it in the corners. With the L4 this weekend I could only get 12.5s with the couple of pack through the bmi I had an 11.89s. But I was not consistent enough with it.

I will get there, just have to change my timing a little and learn not to use all of the steering wheel. lol

Hey Wayne and Jason - First time out yesterday with the conversion and took 3rd in the A main at the Trinity ORL race running 19 turn in open mod!! Car worked awesome, and after 8 minutes I will still on the lead lap. That's something I've never done before, and also this is my first time driving 1/12th all season. (jason had my car since oct of 04...lol). Very happy with the car and a lot of people looked at it yesterday and were impressed.

Jason and Wayne are Da bomb! This BMI 1/12th is awesome.

I do have a bunch of questions for you Wayne so I'll send you a PM.

Wow, so cool hearing all the good reports. .

I've had a different experience with mine the last 2 weeks. We changed our track completely. I just couldn't get my car were I was happy with it. Don't get me wrong, it was still really fast, but just didn't have that little extra I felt it should have.
Last Saturday after two runs and going through the last of the changes I had in my notes, I put on damper tubes instead of disk. Picked up .3 per laps instantly and the car was locked in. That is the first time I've like the car better with tubes. Guess that's why the car comes with both options, there will be a setup available for EVERY kind of situation you come across. Again, great job!!!

take care
john

I think Jason's gonna get a divorce soon. I think he's falling in love with his 1/12th scale

Ok ok, that was dumb...i admit it

I drove "thisgroup's" car this weekend as well. All I can say is I will be converting my 12L4 shortly as soon as I can get the conversion.I was able to finish 3rd overall with my stock 12L4 that all I have added is lowered pod plates and when I drove his car it felt much faster through the corners. Seemed to stay flatter through the entire track and I only ran about 15 laps with it. Nice work gentlemen.

JJ187RC...
Make sure you contact BMI... We're trying to keep a list with the an order of people for the conversions. I can pass the info on, but it's easier to contact BMI directly so there are no problems.
Thanks,
Wayne

P.S. Glad you liked the conversion!!
