Wayne and other prototype drivers,
Have you guys tried running the car with an angled servo mounts? Any difference in handling? I personaly haven't tried running flat servo yet, and still using angled mounts on my Hyperdrive.
My only concern and I had voiced this over to Jason yesterday was to make a hole so that we can use an XRAY aluminum servo mount along with servo tape for the flat servo configuration instead of using servo tape and shoe goo.
And I understand servo size is in consideration for where to drill the hole, but if Jason can do the hole like they way he does it on servo mounting holes for his XRAY chassis, then there is room for different size servos to move to achieve dead center.
One more thing is that I'm assuming you guys have to cut the servo mounting taps on one side to clear the front end?

The angled servo mounts gave the car a push on smooth, high bite tracks. If the track was bumpy it may be helpful, but I usually never run it on the angled mounts. There are holes in the chassis to do that if you want to try it.
I never saw an XRAY mount, so I can't say much on that. I mount my servo flat to the chassis on the second set of holes in the chassis. The newer 1/12 servos have the standard ear mounts for an angled style mount or the ears coming off of the bottom of the servo so you mount them flat. With my car I trimmed off the right side ear to clear the a-arm mount and used the flat feet off the bottom of the servo to mount it. I hate servo tape and shoe goo... to big of a mess!

sg1 - Which holes in the servo saver do you use? I'll be mounting the servo flat on the chassis with shoegoo and am in the process of making a 2.5mm graphite backing plate to stop the servo saver from warping.

servo saver warping? are you talking about where the ballstuds mount to the saver? I always use AE servo mount spacers (part # ?) they are a perfect fit and very cheap too. they are just plastic and you'll need longer threaded ballstuds. Most AE touring car and off-road kits come with these. They look like tiny glasses frames. Sorry if this isn't what you are talking about, but this is a good tip for any one who spends some time on the boards

The only changes I made for mod. are pink rear tires, move batteries all the way back, and add 1/2 deg. more camber to the front.

I use the top holes and use a CRC grahpite servo plate, just like the one your making!

Alright thats it. 4 12th scale carpet races this year and 4 2nd place finishes. Whats a guy got to do to win around here? Get a new chassis?
