Smart Diffs in Nitro - Front, Center or Both???
Okay so I picked up a pair of Losi Smart Diffs for my 8t 2.0, but there seems to be a differnece in opinion in which to run. I origionally thought that a lot of the electric guys were using the front and the nitro folks the middle so I had planned to set mine up with just the middle.
So here's my question... What setup tends to work best for people? Front SD only, Center SD only, Both SD's or none and just use the stock diffs

I also don't like the smart diff to stay engaged when I let off, so I run 35's which is different than what I heard most peiople run. But I can tell you, the car will push like a lawn mower off power until the diff unlocks. When it does unlock, it will turn sharper than you have ever felt. They do take some getting used to. I have not tried the front because the center worked so good, I just don't see the need.
Good luck if you try it...

I have wanted to try out a diff like this but just havnt done it yet, I have a mbx6 so it works so good now...
With all the time I have tuning diffs and so and also reading into the design of all the smart diffs out there I can come to a good conclusion on where to start though.
1) if you run a center diff, I can only see it wanting to push the car. sure you could make other adjustment to compensate but I think theres just to many neg's to it. I would stick to stock on the center... There easy to tune to get just what you want.
2) Smart diff in front I can see working really well... I think as stated above the trick will be getting it to unlock instantly when letting of the gas. I would like to try one in the front some day, but when i do I will leave it at just the front. This is where you control so much of your steering on and off so I can see some advantages.
I read that losi says run the center but fioroni says run the front...lol
not sure why losi says that as I can see why the front makes sense.
