Anyone else running a reciever pack?
Beside you 12th scale guys out there, any touring car people use them? I just got some, and got them put in my tc3, and they work (the servo twitches and the esc comes on), just havent gotten the chance to try them out yet because i need a transmitter crystal

it depends why you are doing it.
if your using low turn mods and worried about battery drain upon acceleration id just use some small capacitors on the reciever.
apart from that i cant see any advantage.

I think it is best used as a usefull ballast
I think you will be hard pushed to notice a difference in runtime as the receiver and servo use relativly little energy compared to the motor.

Most radio's nowadays are 3 channel anyway so there would be no problem there.
1st channel servo
2nd speedo
3rd PT
BATT slot use the receiver pack.
Also a Y lead could be used

They use it in Japan to gain runtime, its not much but its something. If you have tried everything to gain runtime this is like the last thing you try.

I just started running one in my Xray. The way I look at it I try everthing to maximize the voltage that gets to the motor. I plan out my electronics to get the shortest wire routing. I spend top dollar for the highest voltage batteries that I can find. I'm always looking for the best charger to get the most from those batteries and I'm always looking for the best tray to maintain those batteries. I take care in soldering those packs together. I look for the best ( lowest resistance ) ESC. I spend hours and hours on the motor dyno. I'm using a digital servo and a PT.
I'll bet you that most of the guys reading this do most of if not all of the same things that I do.......... so I think a receiver pack makes sense.......... anyway my car is under weight !!!!!
One thing I did notice is that my race day routine has changed in that I have to remember to charge that pack or I don't race !!
