I get them but haven't figured out how to contain them yet. I drive great in practice nice and relaxed but once the jitters set in it tends to make me worse. I plan on trying ear buds sunday. Seems like that would help.

I agree with those who have said if you didn't get the jitters it wouldn't be fun. I too love the sound and smell of all those nitros clearing out right before the start. I get them worse when in the lead, if I'm catching the leader I'm fine, but once I pass them I get nervous. I'm really bad about looking at the other guys car too. If I hear the caller say 2nd place just crashed I try to sneek a peek to see how I'm going to benifit from it. lol If I keep that under control and focus on my laps then I do pretty good, if not sometimes it's not pretty. lol

Oh hellz yea ! Alcohol is big no no for racing won't even drink the day or two before big race. I can feel the effects from it on the track.

The faster and more experienced you get that shake starts going away.

I am able to control some of my Jitters racing 1/8 buggy but I started racing 2wd mod this winter and the jitters are killing me I'm fine in practice but once the qualifier starts I start shaking like a leaf?? I have tried chewing gum taking deep breaths ..Listing to music was too distracting I couldn't considerate on my lines.. I don't drink beer so maybe I'll start

I've felt the same way and sometimes my eyes start twitching....I try to forget that I'm actually competing and act like I'm just running with my buddies
