Default Update:

Just wanted to let everyone know that my Gen Ace 40C 5000 pack has gotten much better. I have about 20 cycles on it now and it is giving me good numbers. Better than I expected given what the cells were reading when I first got it. Run time is good. Punch has been getting better. But the real news is that that internal resistance is coming in at 1 - 2 ohms every charge now. So for the money it is working very well.

Default Gens Ace 5000 4S in stock at HobbyPartz

Just got 8 of these Gens Ace 5000 4S LiPos from HobbyPartz. Ordered them a week ago and got an out of stock notice but I told them to just ship them when they got in. Guess they must have gotten a shipment cause all 8 came in a big box today.

Hmmm. Currently I'm using 5000 40c 2s packs, I have 3 of these. I would consider selling them to go for one of those above. But which one? I currently run 17.5 boosted TC, and the 5000 I have do go slightly soft towards the end of the run... Would the 5800 45c be a better choice or the 5000 65c? When are the new packs due? And what price should they be going for?

Weight isn't much of an issue, I have to add 20-30g weight to the car battery side anyway.

Where can I get those batteries? Seems like hobbypartz.com is always out of stock.

I give up on these batteries. Price is always good however support and supply have to count as well.

I will get my next battery from my local hobby shop to keep them alive and know the support is there if I need it.

I'd go with the 5800, since there would be 800 more mah to pull out of the battery than with the regular 5000 pack. I really wouldn't think you'd need the high burst rate unless you were driving 13.5 or lower.

Yesterday, my first race with the gens ace 5000 50c packs.
The batteries gave me a lot of punch, there wasn't any difference with my expansive packs (orion).
Too bad my driving wasn't so good .
For me from now on, only gens ace batteries.
