If your running smaller than that-then you might want to think about some set-up changes to gain steering back.
Yea, I have the travel for each side so that the rim just barely touches the shock (KO Helios Travel is at 71%). I pretty much run full steering (KO Helios Balance at 94). I'm definitely gonna have to make some setup changes.

What's the difference if I shim under the pin holder rather than out at the hex?

You also need 38mm turnbuckles. The part number is 79273. The retail on the topdeck is $35.00.

Randy from "the hobby shop" should be calling this afternoon to order me one. Thanks! Can't wait. I understand this new top deck will solve all my problems and make me an A-main driver.

Hello all,

Just wondering how the following adjustments would affect the handling of my RDX.

1. going from standard to narrow hexes up front.

2. sweeping the front arms back.

Just my quick 2 cents...I switched to a T2 from a well set up RDX. BIG MISTAKE!!!! I missed the hell out of my RDX the last 3 races and am looking to pick up another one. I'm sure the T2 has it's good qualities but I can't get the damn thing to turn and rotate nearly as well as my RDX did. I WANT MY RDX BACK!!!!! This is one of those defining moments where you realize you did something VERY stupid.....

What set up are you running on the T2? It may not be the car but your set up. But I my self have a T2 now and am looking to trade for an RDX to try for carpet. It does seem,by looking at the RDX on the track, that it does rotate very easy. I think sometimes some drivers have better luck with certain cars.

I found at Vegas that using the new Jaco 26mm wide two stage foams dealt with the steering clearance issues. Otherwise, I was always narrowing their older 28mm wide tires/wheels.

Just a quick kit question......If it is one of the kits with the chassis pre drilled for the motor guard (US Carpet Spec Kit), is the chassis also already set to accept the Specialized offset motor mount?

I spent a ton of time with different setups and trying different things. Last thing I'm going to try is a more conventional shock oil setup and tune with oils. Very well built car but just not my RDX.

I did find that it the getting the car to rotate was a combo of my setup pand how I drove a car. The T2 seems to have a good amount of rear grip. It was really good for me on the asphalt with rubber tire. But with foams I do not really like it.

So I have an RDX now on the way to try.

Guys please welcome DodgeGuy to the club. We finally convinced him to drop the T2 and step into a real car . I will teach him the secret handshake later this week.

Well_I am going to try my hand at Rubber tires again. Talking in large generalities that the fastest rubber tire/carpet set-up is one in which you can spin the car out at will, but when driven smoothly with throttle inputs going to the apex that you dont spin out?

In other words-if you are to dial a set-up in thats flat planted and can even be driven aggresively and rear remains planted that that set-up is inherently slow? I think I am going to start with Ertracters (sp?) IIC set-up.

I need to know these things since I have NO ONE to practice against on rubber tires till the Halloween Classic practice starts. IN the meantime I'll try around 1 to 2 seconds off the foam tire stock laptimes-depending on whos setting the laptimes (ie. Goetz or Hermmann).
