Yeah spools are usually real sweet outdoors. I have never really used them on carpet though. It tends to make the front end "fight" itself sometimes in certain conditions. I usually prefer a one way. If your setup is right, they are still very easy to drive even on the tightest of tracks. Spool do give some awesome rip of corners though.

Here a question for you guys...

I am running a one way in front and I am having a problem with the belt skipping off the front one way. Last night it actually cost me a place in the a-main.

I am running the belt tentioner in the front, and the layshaft is all the way upin the middle of the car.

Anyone else heard of this? My belt came out of the box really loose....

Just to followup on the diff problems I was having before:

I rebuilt the diff using a new thrust washer which was properly greased this time, and it worked like a charm. I'm still fairly certain neither of mine were greased when they were pre-assembled (they both came out very dry) but a guy at the track who just bought his RDX said he got all paranoid after reading my post, and tore his car down (during its initial build) to check. His thrust washer had white grease on it, and worked just fine out of the box.

Anyway, thanks again to everybody for all the help and tips and everything else.

Seems that all the pre-built difs are having this problem these days...maybe it's a rush in the build at the factory. People noticed it with the new Xray too. Before building my RDX, I check the thrust and greased it anyway....i'll do the same thing with the Xray I receive today.

Whenever I get a new kit I always go over any prebuilt assemblies.

Its a nice gesture on the part of the manufactere to do pre assemblies. but It seem especially for race kits that it is entirely unneccesary

I can understand for rtr maybe. but as a racer I want to take my time a build everything...

Every part must be fit properly and adjusted to the correct spec. .

First time out with the car last night. What a great car!

3-4 tenths faster right off the bat!

Broke a diff screw in the A-Main I "stole" from kansasracer (see previous post), called Corally this AM, new parts are on the way. Now thats SUPPORT!

Great first time outing. But if anyone else asks at the local track, the car is terrible, don't anyone buy one....

I doubt the broken screw was anything more than a fluke, or maybe I had it too tight? The diffs are so smooth you'd swear they were loose.

Glad everyone is getting the diffs figured out. A little touchy but once done right, nothing but butter smooth. Like someone mentioned, building a bunch of diffs for kits can have a couple problems. Always a good idea to check everything yourself to make sure it is all done right, the first time.

I also broke a diff screw this past weekend. I'm guessing I must have had my diff too tight as well? Nice to hear that they are sending you a new screw. I didn't think to call them about it, figured it would boil down to user error.
