LIPO or LIFE?
OK as some of you know I am just getting back into the RC hobby and when I was around last there wasnt a such thing as LIFE or LIPO batteries.
So what is best to use for my D8T without any modifications to the truck or if mods are needed....very minimal so that I can still use standard batteries if I ever HAD to.
I am running Airtronics MX-3X with FHSS-3 and Hitech HS-7955TG. I have not purchased a charger YET but I am going to buy one that will charge all types of batteries...lipo, nicd, nimh, life, etc. Leaning towards the AC6 by Thunder.
Please let me know what type of battery as well as the model # that fits into the D8T. I dont want to spend a ton so please no batteries over 50 bucks each. And should I buy one for the truck and one as a back up? or will one battery get me through a couples hours at the track?

I think my servos will run LIPO (HiTech 7955TG) BUT it sounds like LIFE is the way to go these days.
Golferdude...thanks. Looks like thats the one for the truck. Any idea on the model for the MX-3X controller too?

I know as we are the only ones at the moment who produce the hump pack that fits the losi 8 and thats small and the d8 is even smaller .
Go lipo for your D8T.

For your D8T i would go for the lipo (maybe a small lrp) as there is no lifep04 pack on the planet that will fit the HB D8 or D8T .

a lipo pack will overload your airtronics receiver. Stick with liFe. You'll end up getting more run time, as you dont have to use a regulator. Regulators change voltage from 7.4v to 6.0v, but you end up losing some wattage to parasitic heat loss.
