Thanks Aaron, my Kanai #1 was crazy fast, but I had to richen the top out 4 turns because so much fuel was blowing out the nose bearing and causing it to go lean. I changed that bearing today!

tony - I'm not sure of an official date..it should be soon. I know they are working on the final version of the engine.

This isnt about the Kanai engine but its about temp. I have a hyper 21 8port race engine still during break in when i check temp near the glow plug im getting a 200 reading on the left and about 235 on the right (as viewed from front of engine i know its probably because of the exhaust port design but do i average them out or.....
I use a good temp gun

Use your temp gun in the center of the head, through the top.

Yeh thats where i check it on the area surrounding the glow plug this is where i get a reading that varys depending on the spot. The other nitro engines i've tuned havent been this way.

Every spot on the head will most likely read at a different temperature. The baseline reading that most people in the hobby use is through the glow plug opening, and as close to the glow plug as the tempgun will let you get.
