Both esc's run excellent in modified, very precise and adjustable throttle feel to suit your preference and conditions. I finished 6th in mod sedan at carpet nationals this year running a VTX10R and VST 4.5.
The VTX10 is rated to 6.5t so if you intend on running lower than 6.5t you will want to run the VTX10R.

Did you have to run any additional cooling on the ESC?

Thanks for stopping by bro, good to see you
No fan necessary. Under extreme ambient temps, like 90*+ air temps or 120-140* track temps we may want to run a fan for security to prevent a dnf, but I don't think it's actually necessary. Motor temps are more of a concern than esc temp in those conditions. These esc's run very efficiently.
