Okay, right now I race my BMI TC3. It's the FT version with the BMI conversion. It drives well, and I like it a lot. But just a little while ago, I got a Yokomo SD in a trade. The Yok has the Rayspeed conversion on it, and some other upgrades: graphite shaft, half ceramic bearings, graphite arms, and ti. screw set. I haven't driven the Yok yet, but there a lot of things that I like about it: all the arms are the same (easy for spares), the diffs are super-easy to get to (only 2 screws), and I like the steering setup over the TC3. I'd like to keep both cars, but I might not be able to afford it
So, what are your opinions on the two cars? Is one significantly better than the other? Any compelling reasons to keep one over the other?

Since you own both cars now you should make your opinion at your track, it will just take some time to find the best set-up for the SD so you can choose the right one

I was to sell my SD cos I was not finding a good set-up with the 1-way (low grip track), but I recently tried the front spool and now the car is dialed.
I have the RS conversion too but it's really too flexy so I'm making my own chassis now.

I agree to what utieh mention there.. But for me I still keep my FT TC3... Simply the best toruing car I ever got... Just my $.02 opinion..

Gilles, since I made my own thick chassis my car has been brilliant.

Have you run yours with the CGM tub chassis yet? The Rayspeed is better than the SSG but not as stiff as the CGM. My chassis is made from 3.8mm carbon fibre and just doesn't move.

Glad you have got yours sorted. I always run a front spool nowadays. Once you get used to driving with one it's horrible without it.

As for the question of which is best I feel that the SD and the TC3 are 2 of the best cars on the market. If you can keep them both, then do so. If not, see which one suits your style best.

I'm not sure It needs to be 3,8 mm thick, Fiber Lyte CF is so stiff
I have a 2mm upper plate with tons of cuttings which is almost as stiff as the RS 3mm lower plate

I will also make some camber links plates so the roll center will be easier to adjust.

That comment only makes my decision harder, lol But it is nice to know that either car will be up to the job. I just plain like my TC3 for whatever reason and I have a lot of spares for it. I have not yet raced the Yok, but I really like it's features. I just don't have many parts for it. Anyone have any spare parts I could get? Thanks.
BTW, if it makes any difference, I race stock.

I think the Yokomo CGM special will be a better choice betwen the two.
Chassis is stiff already.
The tub will protect your precious electronics
Lightening the chassis can be done
Loads of hop ups available
