2wd probably wouldn't work well as the chassis was designed for 4wd. Try a f1 on rubber tires for a great 2wd experience. they are a lot of fun and very different to drive.

Also installed the xi dh v2 motor mount on the zero hybrid last night, fits well. Just like I thought though, if you use the zero or zero s lower chassis then you will need to drill the hole for the root arm mount 3mm further forward. I'll do pics tonight.

What shocks are people running with the plus 4mm towers?

hows it going guys i got one of these kits for me and my son we are rookies but enjoy watching and going to the local events . one question is whats a legal club racing motor ? and whats a good esc to use ?
#1958
You'll need to ask that question at the track you're racing at. Legal ESCs, motors, tires, bodies, etc all vary based on the class you are going to run in. Some clubs stick with national rule sets, some change them, some make their own.

o ok . just to start will any 17.5 motor be good ? which one are you running that makes you happy ? just need some ideas before i start buying the motor and esc set up . o and is it a 540 or a 550 motor ? and whats the difference . sorry for the noob question .

But, again, you should ask at the track you plan on racing at. Any advice you get on the internet may be totally wrong because it doesn't apply in your instance.
I run a Novak 25.5, a Trinity 21.5 and a Speed Passion 17.5. Sometimes brands are specified by rules, sometimes there are perceived advantages, sometimes there are actual advantages based on local conditions and sometimes it comes down to price.
My advice is go to a race and talk to the racers that are running in the class you want to race in.

I will for sure thanks .

+1 on what faux mako said. Pick your class before you pick your equipment. none of this stuff is super cheap. at least not to me. I would hate for you to buy a motor and esc just to find out that what you bought isn't legal. Once you pick your class go with some good name stuff on the motor and esc. If you go cheap you will he buying it again later. Novak, tekin, reedy, lrp, and many others make good equipment that will be competitive and last you a while.

Guys, does increasing the gear ratio make the car harder to even push from a stationary position? That's what happened to my car. I'm running a 40t pinion to a 70t spur.

Can anyone confirm if these spurs fit the stock sakura s?

Also are there still issues with the belts being too tight? I plan on running in a power starved class so that would be an issue I'd need to sort out.

Actually probably a better question is - Is it possible to get a FDR of 4.0 or lower and a free drive train with just the kit parts (and new spur/pinion)?
