Default 12th scale carpet?

considering carpet racing this winter. not sure how often ill be able to get to the track but think id like to give it a try.
what is the best car to start out with? rc12r5 ?
tbh, all 12th scale looks exactly the same to me.
what motors/esc's are typically put in 12 scale? im assuming brushless but not sure.

Pretty much all the 1/12th cars on the market now are excellent so go with what you can get parts support for. The 12r5.1 is great. I like the CRC GenXL, it's very well priced and easy to get parts for. If you want the latest high tech rig, the BMI looks awesome.

Most everyone is running brushless and lipo now but check with your track to see what they are running. For brushless, Tekin RS with a Tekin or Duo motor.

just my 2 cents...get the BMI Copperhead 12 with the new front end...a lot more adjustable, + it looks real cool

brushed or brushless? i notice quite a bit of folks are still using brushed motors and nimh batteries in their 1/12's..
if brushed is good, i have a new hpi 19t driftmeister and a new checkpoint money motor (19t) that i should be able to use.
i really dont want to use nimhs.
would prefer lipo..
what type of lipo?
prefer to use turnigy due to its cost.
thanks

Last year there was still one person to use NiMH and 19T motors. He was as fast as the rest using 1S and 13.5 but when he hit you, the heavier car won launching the lighter car off the track.
