where are you guys getting your bearings from and are you really preferring ceramic over "stock" or is there a bearing thats not as pricey as ceramic yet better quality than "stock" ones ..

Avid work well but I prefer The tko $1 bearings for the wheels and diffs. If you are talking about the engine bearings personally I like the Bocca ceramic bearings better results so far than tko. Fhe bocca bearings are more expensive but i get tired of swapping engine bearings every 2-3 gallons. For the clutch the tko special bearings are perfect just install the blue seals towards each other and they will treat you well. That's what I use. Ohh ya just my experience the protek stuff is pure junk I have never seen wheel bearings go bad so quickly.

I've been using the Avid bearing for awhile now. It seems though like my clutch bearings have been going out quicker then with the old bearings I was running. They were just the protek ones on amain. For 1$ though avid is really hard to beat, and they work well. It might just be that I'm running my buggy harder then I use to, and for longer stretches.

How does everyone like the TKO bearings?
I just ordered a bunch of Avid bearings but I might try out the TKO ones next time.
And has anyone ran the Avid ceramics on their clutch? I was going to order a couple of them tonight to try out, but I forgot about it until after I had completed the order.

Team Blue Star is great on the e to the bay. I paid 30 bucks for 2 complete sets for my 8ight and haven't blown any on the first set yet, got over a gallon on them. Cheep and strong is always a plus.

Protek bearings are extremely good quality . And only $1 each as well . Can get them from A Main Hobbies .

TKO special clutch bearings are BOMB. Going on 2 gallons on one set and I have to stop the clutch bell from manually spinning it. I just spins forever.

It's cool to have such a great selection of bearings. I remember when it was, well this is what we have, the mugen bearings are really good I used those for a long time, I do buy Avids, but it seems like there are lots of sweet bearings out there. I can't think of a bad bearing. Those traxxas bearings for the 5x10 clutch are really good....

Anyone tried the Avid ceramic bearings???

I get to officially say, AVID. I ran 2 seasons on the inner wheel bearings, diff bearings and they are the longest lasting bearings I had in outer hub.

TKO - is good too

I like avid personally. At the time i placed my last order some of the other places like boca were out of certain bearings i needed and avid was the only one i could find with them all in-stock. Since that intial order i've placed 2 more orders and each time they shipped in less than a day. Great bearings, its hard to complain when they are $1/ea, i like to keep some extras handy. I was debating about keeping the old ones around just in case, but its so cheap to have extras its worth the couple bucks to have them on hand, just in case.
