Cleaning your Nitro Exhaust
Anyone bother with trying to remove the tire foam from the pipe?
Any idea on how I can clean that off?

Works killar. Spray, let sit overnight, scrub lightly with an old toothbrush spray again, let sit and wipe off. You end up with a shiny header and pipe the anodizing isn't degraded (the anodizing is distroyed by oven cleaner). The down side- only the outside is clean. The inside is still filthy and your performance, in time, will degrade. The crock potted antifreeze will get both the inside and outside clean. At least you have a coupla options.

I have tried Carbon off many times, but thought there had to be a cheaper way to do it. The Carbon off I was buying was close to $14.00 for a spray can.
I then went to Home Depot and bought a quart can of expozy paint remover and a couple of cheap paint brushes.
Laid the items on a piece of cardboard, and then brushed it on with the paint brushes.
Within 10 to 15 min. top the grime was dripping off the pipe and header.
I just hosed them off, and lightly polished them, and as done with in 25 min top.
The items look great, cost is much lower<approx. 1/2 the cost Carbon Off> plus it is much faster

dont know why no one invests in a ultrasonic cleaner?
it cleans the inside and outside without even touching it.
i use it to clean my pipes, headers, hardware, crankcases, pistons, headbutt ons, sleeves rods, cranks, cooling heads, clutches, clutch bells, differentials, flywheels, carb parts, suspension parts, anything i can fit inside,i even stick my electric shaver heads in there

you can find them anywhere from $75.00 up to $500.00,
L&R and Branson models are good ones to look for.

That is for extremly light duty, rings, bracelets and things like that. Doubt very much if it would even take the lightest engine grime off the pipe/header.
Try Carbon Off, Expozy paint remover, or clean it first with old nitro fuel and then polish it, but dont waste your money on that one
