200mAh receiver pack in 1/12th scale?
Saw THIS little gem at Amain. I like the voltage and size for 1/12th scale, but how far will 200mAh go?
The local club runs 8-min quals/mains, 13.5 bl, 1s lipo, and no boost.
I suppose it's cheap enough to experiment with....but I was hoping someone out there has already tried it, and could give me a thumbs up, or down.
TIA
Jason

I charged it fully when I received it, then charged it after every use. Mine lasted 6 runs before swelling. Charged at 200mA in a 2s LiFe (6.6v) charger setting, It took 65 mA before each heat. This was with a Spektrum SR3500 Rx, Futaba 9650 servo, AMB transponder. Battery was plugged into the Battery port on the Rx through an on/off switch (SPDT that disconnected the positive lead). Disconnected from Rx between race days.
Replaced it with a Trinity/EPIC LiFe Rx pack. This lasted one main and two qualifiers before swelling. Again, charged fully before installation, and before each run. Maximum it took was 70mA before fully charged. This was in a WGT car.
A 2s LiPo in my 1/12 scale has no issues after 1 month of use. Same Rx, transponder, and servo.
I'm going back to a voltage booster.

SMC has one that is 220mah 6.6 life. It has a on/off switch and a charge lead for the same price.

Been using the Trinity/Epic 220mah LiFe in both my WGT and 1/12 all of last season without any problems or issues. That's racing every weekend throughout the winter.
Recharging usually put back about 100 to 110 mah per 8 minute heat for the 1/12 and about 90 mah per 6 minutes for the WGT.
Before that I was using a booster and it never quite worked as promised, the Rx packs gave much more performance to the Futaba 9650 servo and the Tekin RS worked perfectly compared to the Novak booster.
I'll never use a booster again, as the old adge says, you can't get something for nothing and you can't make something from nothing.

Are Protek cells the same as Trinity/EPIC which is also OEM from Intellect/IP Batteries?

i run the epic li-fe rx pac in all of my pan cars. i usually charge it every run, just to be safe, it only takes about 35-45 mAh. and takes about 8 min to charge at .7 amp. is it that big of a deal to try and run all night?
