Hahaha, I just checked out Adam Drake's turnbuckles, and he replaced them all with Lunsford standard turnbuckles. I suspect Maifield will do the same!

I brought the truck out to the track today and finally was able to get a lot of laps in. Broke a rear arm, but that's what Tower eCash is for, right?

I also posted a review of the Hyper TT on my blog. Check it out if you want my thoughts on the truck.

FYI, I found Associated shock tool 1113 to work pretty well at popping the shocks off of the shock mounts. Just slot it between the pivot ball and the shock cap and pry the shock off.

I spent the afternoon tuning and testing and got the truck working tons better. Still broke a rear arm and lost a dogbone, so looks like I'll be upgrading to rear CVA's.

On the plus side, the truck is now actually FUN to drive and not breaking every battery pack.

Hello all, pinion gear question:

Is a mod1 pinion required, or can any gear be used?

I have seen where people have used either one...

So like every other RC I seem to own - these minis were all $150-200 away from being dialed ...

Been working on the Mini ST - Ive got the electric 10TT chassis and conversion kit and was gonna bolt everything on up over onto that but kinda liking the nitro vibe on these guys - ordered the nitro 10TT chassis as most everything from the mini crosses over to the 10TT

Do need a tire solution though [ badlands ... sooo much want ]

First issue i had was - shocks - could not get down with the stock springs and shocks on this guy - stock hobao rears were giving me grief - so out came the Jammin 13mm big bores from days or yore ... DM1 up front ... Jammin buggy fronts in the rear... had to fab up some front springs [ again ] Was actually looking at the 16mm Big Bores off the Tekno 410SCT - but $75 all in when i had these on tap - resulted in this ...

I had to use Jammin rear shock rod ends [ longer ] on the front shocks and front rod ends [ shorter ] on the rear shocks. I cut down a single rear jammin 13mm yellow spring into to lengths 6.5 coils each.
I will be switching out the deep blue Jammin 13mm stock springs in the rear with some light blue Jammin or Mugen [ front buggy ] springs in the rear.

Hope to smoothly transplant it all over to the 10TT chassis when the center braces and driveline and new chassis from hobao get here. Ordered some STRC cva shafts and hexes and stuff for it too.

Id love to talk tires 2.2 buggy rear vs. 2.2 'truck" rear - wth? Im a 1/8th guy by nature all this truk buggy and SCT 2.2 nonsense has me spinning. The Jammin minis are running what wheels/tires I wonder? That electric conversion Jammin is lonely waiting for me to solder up that Mamba SCT combo 1415 / 3800Kv [ IIRC ]

Any help appreciated

Looks good! What issue did you have with the stock rear shocks?

Anyway, there are 3 main types of 1/10 scale tires. Stadium Truck (also called Truck) and Buggy are 2.2" (they make some 2.4"/60mm/61mm tires, but don't get those). Trucks use the same tires all around, buggies have smaller tires in the front.

The third type is Short Course Truck, which are 3.0" on the inside of the tire and 2.2" on the outside. You don't want those on the Hyper TT, you want 2.2" Truck (stadium truck) tires.

Very nice... I've been working on a review as well with special emphasis on how to prepare this platform for club level racing:
http://www.ultimaterc.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=238719

It's still a work in progress, I hope to have everything wrapped up and track testing complete by the end of March... our local club had a major setback recently when heavy winds destroyed the building for the 1/10 Clay Track... the club plans to construct a more durable building which will increase the track size by 30% and convert the surface to short pile turf over crushed base.
