well my zip tie mod worked like a charm. i did a few cart wheels and a few rough landings and it didnt fail.
i got my aluminum steering knuckles today but i didnt bother to install them. i will anyways. just so i have spares for the other tt.
i also broke a rear arm. it cracked all the way through the middle. once again the zip tie worked great. just drilled a hole through the side and secured the zip tie.
works like a charm and there's no clearance issues.
i love zip ties, and i love the ability to fix this truck with simple stuff and a bit of common sense.
i do have new parts but i dont belive in throwing away stuff that can be fixed(unless you want 100% for racing)

i ran my tt with a 3s, even with expo at -25% , i was still pulling wheelies.
wasnt stupid fast at all but it was going a good 30 mph. at least.

I'm not trying to set speed records, just fast enough to almost be out of control.
Mid 30's mph? I'm not sure really as I've never actually recorded speed with any GPS or anything. Main thing is I want to beat the in-laws on the backyard track and keep heat reasonble.

I know this truck shares most of its parts with the SC and the mini ST, does this include the aluminum rear hub carriers? I think they are made by STRC if it makes a difference.

13/42 on 3s, with the cc 3800kv motor is giving me somewhere in the 30s. it doesnt overheat at all, and it is still manageable.
i know i can gear it up higher, but it goes plenty fast the way it is now.

So if I run 2s, does that mean I can use a bigger pinion without overheating? I'm obviously new to this so forgive my thick-headedness.

Gearing up places more demand on the motor. You're going to pull higher amps, which equal shorter run time and more heat. I run the Castle 3800 4 Pole on 2s with 13T pinion for indoor technical track. It's a beast, and runs at like 115 degrees. I run the same outdoors, but go from a 4" tire to 5" masher and temps get up to 160. I don't own any 3s lipos.
If your motor RPM can handle 3s, I would run that, and gear down. As long as the motor can handle the RPMs. If you gear for the same speed from 2s to 3s, a smaller pinion is going to let the motor work easier. It should draw less amps, and create less heat.
If you want to run 3s and even have better temps, get the Tenshock 3500.

Also I can't post links yet, so I made a photo album on here if anyone wants to see the Pro-line Bulldog T4/4.1 body on the 10TT. Just go to my profile. I'll come back to edit this post after I get over the post count restriction.

Hi everyone
I've been trying to find a set of Proline striker 2 tyres for carpet racing for my hyper tt with no success. If anyone has a spare set that they would like to sell please let me know
Cheers

hi all i'm awaiting delivery of my Hyper TT roller and after a lot of reading looking to put a castle SC 3800 combo in it and run on 2s. Could anyone tell me a good gearing setup to run on this using stock spur?
Also i'm rubbish at glueing tyres and after trawling through this thread noticed a couple of you are running on beadlocks namely
Pro-Line 2715-04 Split Six 2.2/3.0 Proline Gladiator SC Tire M2 2.2"/3.0" 1169-01 and someone else using proline titus beadlocks I believe. Can anyone who runs beadlocks provide some feedback ie are the tyres staying on the rims ok etc.
many thanks

Does anybody know how this truck will hold up to some bigger wheels? I'm thinking about getting some 2.8 wheels but I don't wanna start breaking tons of axles or CVD's or whatever else. Anybody tried this?

i run the proline badlands on one of them and it doesnt break a sweat, i seen squirrold video, he runs a 1/8 motor on it and it handles it pretty good.
i just got a set of proline mashers and i will be putting them on. the only thing to be worried about is your esc and motor temps.
i run a 550 ballistic 5.5 motor on the one using the badlands and it doesnt get hot at all. well a little hot only when running offroad and going over stuff.
