Love how this thing handles, never span out once, its so forgiving and predictable. Loads of people commented on how it just seemed planted, never stepping out of line.
Can you share your setup please ?
I run carpet too, 13.5 (not boosted nor blinky, just a stock 2 year old software). What motor you got, and what temp you reach ?
How big is your track ?
I have a 417 with cut top deck, cut motor mount but not the shock towers from the 417X...
I run sorex 32 or 28 though.
If you say your car was planted, I might try that
Thanks

Also only the lower deck is compared to the stock 417 one about 20 gramms heavier.

I orderd the lower deck, and the thickness of it was left to right NOT equal.
One side was 2,1mm and the other 2,32 mm thick.

I want to return it to rcmarket, and buy the original Tamiya, but they wrote me back that it is not possible, bla bla bla....

I defenetly never buy CSO parts.

The only thin wich is good in my opinion is of course the price, and the qualtiy of the CNC shapes and holes..

Greetings Rainer
Yes well, despite the questionable quality I tried the CSO last night and it was VERY interesting! The car was actually very good, it has a LOT more grip than the standard 417x chassis which for me on low grip asphalt meant I had better turn in, more planted rear end and more on power steering, but less corner speed. I didn't have time to tune the setup with the new deck so I ended up racing my regular car, but I'll head to the track this weekend and get a stopwatch on both cars to see what is faster.

Rainer, thanks for the advice.
Another question that I have is, when I bought my 2 TRF417 here at rctech (good price and quality for both) one of the user told me it would be possible to convert it into the X, is that true? Which parts should I change if it is correct, the lower and upper deck for sure, but the rest not so sure.
As I get those cars now for a little time, don't want to sell to get another new car.

Off the top of my head the key changes are top and bottom decks, shock towers, kingpins, gear diff, and motor mount. Assume you have the gear diff already and you can cut your motor mount to get the same effect, so you only really need the carbon parts and the kingpins.

I have a 416X being rebuilt on my work bench any my 417X being set up on my set up board. I can tell you they are quite different cars but I'll try and list everything that I can see is different...

Lower deck
Top deck
Shock towers
Bulk heads
Motor mount
Steering assembly
Inner servo mount
Rear diff
Spur gear assembly
Front belt

There might be more but I think it's safe to say most of it!

Thanks CraigM, I will get those parts and start changing one of them to the X.
The gear diff I already have on both of them.
