Palm Desert R/C Raceway Hosted The 7th Annual Toys for Tots Sat Dec 3rd. 133 racers were in attendance this year with Jimmy Babcock at the helm race directing. The Day started off in fine fashion with local Boy Scout Troop 277 and the Marine Corps from 29 Palms Marine Base doing a presentation of colors with the National Anthem.

12 different classes made up the event with everything from 1/8th buggy and truck to Short Course. Again this year was the ever popular 12 and Under Class for both Electric and Nitro with the parents of the drivers having to do the turn marshaling…

Chris Marrale of Palm Desert R/C Raceway designed a great track that was both fast, technical, and fun for both 1/8th and Electric classes. The new soil that was brought in earlier this summer saw its real first punishment by the 133 racers and held up great with the days racing providing a surface that had very little tire wear. The almost 40ft triple in the back provided big airtime that the spectators really enjoyed.

Some notables were Robert Black the owner of OCRC taking the win in the 40+ Class, Ryan Pavidis the son of Mark Pavidis taking the win in 12 and Under Nitro. Paul King –Cody Kings dad and Pit man running in the Truggy Class.

Chris Marrale, Mom Donna and Steve Burgess would like to thank all the people who helped with this years event and big thanks to all the sponsors (PROLINE RACING, AKA, UNCLE DONS HOBBIES, GROUND CONTROL HOBBIES, TEAM LOSI –TLR, TEAM ASSOCIATED, TRAXXAS, HPI-HOTBODIES, COMPETITION HEAT, CASTLE CREATIONS, RUGSPIN GRAPHIX, MARRIOTT FAIRFIELD INN, RADIO POST, UPGRADE RC) The donated product raised an additional
$ 1290.00 in proceeds along with about 5 50 gallon buckets of toys donated by the racers.

Hope to see everyone next year Dec 1st 2012

Tanner and I had a great time at T4T 2011. This is a great event for a great cause. The track improvements were an added bonus and made racing close and competetive all day. PDRCR is really a great place for an event. Keep it going.

Tanner getting the win in SC Pro2 for the second year in a row was a big confidence booster for him.

Congrats to all the winners and we will see you in Dec 2012 for the 8th annual.
