Default d8t problem

recently my turggy has been acting up ive had it for a couple months...

depending on my landing off a jump...the right rear half shaft seems to come off the join. the 1 nearest to diff. ive tried to adjust a droup to limit the travel of the lower control arm. it hasnt had any effect. ive knoticed on the left rear after the car has been dropped 6 inches...that the dogbone is more inside the joint than the other...i then though the length is wrong...they are the same exact size. i even switched the sides to make sure.

does anyone here know what the problem is or can think of other things i may of missed when looking over it

I had the same problem with my d8 buggy. The chassis was drilled incorrect. If that is the case call HB and they will take care of you.

If what you say is correct then it almost sounds like there is a buggy shaft on it take them out and compare length if one is shorter buy a new bone. i ran my d8t with no droop screws because the d8t doesnt have alot of droop anyways.

my D8t has been doing that lately also.. I had to set my droop setting alot to stop that from happening.. am in the process of finding other axles to solve the problem to get more suspension travel..

The only time that happened to me on my D8t was when the inside bearing inside my hub came apart.

+1 or the rear hub is worn so the bearings are closer together...

My buddy is runnin xb8 drove lines in his d8 so maybe the xt8 will fit a d8t. He had to dremel the arm a lil but only the molded center a but at the end and worked great.

realistically there are only a couple of reasons for this..
-different size drive shafts
- hub or diff wear around bearing areas (or bearing totally shot)
- factory defect chassis

Personally i have tried to see how much it would take in suspension droop before the shaft comes out or comes close to coming out and i could not make it happen unless i started disassembling the truck.Good luck with it..sounds like it is a brain teaser.

OK
i had this problem with my D8

check list:
1. bearings- make sure the bearings don't have a lot of sidways play.
2. diff cups- if the diff cups are worn to much they will allow the shaft to side out and resuilt in the car not handing well.
3. doop- make sure that the doop is the same on both sides of the car.
4. arms- the lower suspension arm can worp in either direction check this is not the case.
5. shaft- make sure the shaft is not bend
6. shaft- make sure the pin in the dogbone end of the shaft is not out one side more than the other and not bend.
7. shaft- repeat no. 6 but for the CVD end of the shaft.

hope this helps
