Yep Thats the one.
Just replaced mine with the same belt.
Make sure you buy the kit(like the one you linked) as it comes with a different tension arm due to the belt being slightly longer.

You only need to buy the "kit" once. The black belt requires the different tensioner arm. Once you have the arm you can just buy the black belt from then on. You won't have to tension the belt very much with motors in the 17.5 range. Also make sure the spur gear mount screws are snug but not tight. The black belt really helps to smooth out the drivetrain but its useless if screws are to tight and all the bearings are crap. Good Luck

"melted due to humidity"
I guess paper mache isn't the best material to use for a belt eh?

xxxs belt
guys, thanks for the info..
does the price look reasonable on that ebay site (around $17) or is there a better place i should be looking for the belt?
yeah i am not sure how it melted like that. i have a few hpi micro cars, an hpi rally, an hpi pro 3 and a few hpi nitro cars and none of them have problems with the belt. so it could be the quality of the belt from losi or maybe because the hpi cars are slightly newer.

That price is about average. Ebay is still one of the best sources for XXX-S stuff. Once the belts(primarily the blue and yellow ones) get old they'll do exactly what yours did. The teeth shed and the belt basically starts "peeling". The teeth make a real mess as they seem to "melt" around the pulley's and spur gear. The black belt is constructed differently but after a long period of non use it'll still fall apart. The shelf life on the black one still seems significantly better and it's a much smoother belt in my experience. Make the drivetrain as free as possible and it's still a great chassis. I have 4 of them and still think it's competitive. Read up...there's a lot of good info out there. Learn some of the setup tricks and you'll have a great handling car and very smooth, very quiet car. Check out John Stranahan's article on chassis setup and check out the other xxx-s threads.
