Doesn't matter at all. Working with shocks is always messy. The times I rebuild my shocks without getting my hands and the shockoutside oily are very very rare. Just remove the oil from outside surfaces. Otherwise the dust and small pieces will love to stick there.

I'm putting the Zepplin c-blocks thru the paces this weekend at a 2 day event. They are holding up very well(2nd race weekend usig them). Installed the RSD DCJs without any mods. Installed RSD bladders and using soft RSD Spring Set. The car is consistent and smooth. Going to install the belt tensioner today. Looking to get the harder spring set.

Im looking at reflex dcj shafts and there are 2. Short and long axle. Should I get the short ones? I have a tc6 but already have 6.1 hubs, knuckles and crush tubes. Do my original dog bone blades fit them or do I need to get spec-r?

If you are running the 6.1 steering blocks, get the narrow version. Your blades will be fine, but you will need new hex hubs and roll pins.

Im not at the moment but they are ordered. What hexes and pins do I need now? Thinner ones? Crap! if you guys carry them please link them all i see the site has 4-5mm ones. I have the stock ones but have 3racing 4mm one as well.

Both hexes will work. I would recommend the 5mm ones. These are the same size like the original TC6 hexes. The 4mm ones are a tuning option for a more narrow car. If you are unlucky the wheels will scrub on the suspension arm...

So my current ones are ok then, sweet what about pins? I dont want to narrow it as I have 3mm offset wheels and 6mm in the rear.im happy the way it handles and where its at. Thanks for clarifying on hex

If you mean the original hexes then it was a misunderstanding. The AE hexes will not work because the DCJs use thicker pins! I meant the RSD hexes in 5mm. Maybe the 3racing hexes work if they are for 2mm x 10mm pins.

I installed the Zeppin 4.5° C-Hubs now.
The assembly went good. Shims are needed to make it slopless. I used 0.2mm for the outer suspension pin an 0.5mm underneath one of the caster block bushings. Now it is perfect like it never was before! I just hope the parts are durable!

Quick Questions...

I noticed on a few TC6 chassis that the steering blocks are flipped over with the ball stud pointing down. Is this the way the TC6 was built or is this a tuning option people are/were doing? I have not messed with it at all on my tc6.1, any help would be great.

Hello all, I just purchased a lightly carpet raced TC6.1.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction about what I should do in regards to upgrades? I having been reading to the point where everything is blurry. In the early days, I read that people where replacing the diffs. Thinking that this model has been out for awhile now, most if not all would or should have some advise. It is a roller. So I will be building it over the winter. Looking to race outdoor with it. Not much of the indoor person. I also race SC10 4x4 off road outside.

I have to say the posts are very informative. To be honest, if this deal did not come around, I have been looking at the T4. As mentioned many times, both vehicles will get you around the track - it comes down to the skill of the operator.
