I would start with a 4.0FDR and go from there. With 110ft straight, You'll most likely end up around 3.91 or so with a 96 Spur. I would use the "...." or "..." insert and tune for about 170 degrees or so. If the car feels flat, take some of the timing out and re-gear.

How about a variation on this one... front spool or gear diff for a 6.1 running VTA on a large asphalt track? And if I should go with the gear diff, starting point for fluid (or front putty/etc?) I realize the car is overkill for VTA, and new enough to where there's not a lot of VTA related conversations floating around for it.

Sedan Tires Questions
My last practice after our local race is pretty good. Look forward to next weeks race to put it to the test. My question is how do I know when the tires are toast? I mean I could have crappy setup but good tires so how do I know on carpet and asphalt when they are give away's and when they still have life on them?
Curious also do they get to flimsy or thin when they get old. Is it the rubber surface?
I've raced sedan earlier in it's evolution but not enough to know for certain when or how long they last on various conditions
Preemptive thanks

So I just recently purchased one of these and am looking forward to getting it on the track. The only thing slowing me down so far was the lipo battery straps/holder was not in the kit. Currently i'm waiting on it so I can finish assembly. I'm going to be using a Spectrum dx2s with a Spectrum S6070 low profile servo. I will be using a mamba max pro with the castle creations 4 pole 4600kv motor. I'm curious where you guys would start gearing wise on a medium length asphalt course (using the stock 48 pitch spur)?
