Im pushing to get USGT going here at the Big Rug in indy for next season. I had a blast running it at the last asphalt attack race and think it is a great class with potential to be as big or bigger than VTA in time
another ROAD TRIP!!!!...have VTA and USGT...Im there!!!!

The Toyota GT-One (model code TS020) was a racing car initially developed as a for grand touring style rules

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_GT-One

it is a GT car based on 1998 rules as much as the porsche GT1 and Mercedes CLK-GTR were, which are acceptable bodies yes?... what are you using to define GT cars

TTE also developed the only two GT-One road cars built, required in order for the race car to qualify as a road car-based Grand Tourer
here is the street car

No. That's it. NO

"In 1997, both the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR and the Porsche 911 GT1 were dominant cars in their class that exploited loop holes in the rules in place at the time. Each car was a custom built super car of which only a small handful of production cars were built to homologate it. TTE realized that they would actually only need to build a single production car in order to meet homologation regulations, thus allowing TTE to have a car that would never truly be sold to a customer, meaning that any driver luxuries could be left out."

On top of everything else, isn't that a superNitro body, meaning it's way too big? edit:that's a 1/8 proceed body.......jeez

I think in order for World GT to get a better following we need to run 1/12 type bodies. Just my 2 cents. I was excitedd when this class was started a few years ago until I saw the bodies. Lets put good bodies on them that handle well like 1/12 and I think people would like it. For some 1/12 is to small and hard to drive. World GT with new bodies would be a much better class for someone to start in than VTA.

Certainly your opinion, Steve, but VTA is HUGE for a reason. And 1/12th scale racing is almost extinct for a lot more reasons than it's size.

Just to clarify, World GT pan cars and USGT/RCGT touring cars are two completely different classes with completely different goals. Allowing LMP bodies in the USGT class would be foolish in the nicest sense of the word.

And we wonder why on road racing has been on life support for more than a decade?

Hey Rob, can I run this in USGT?

It's 200mm, you know... and it might be a GT car in some class in some part of the world in some stratosphere. I don't think I'd have any advantage, and the looks would do the class some good, right?

Thumbs down

That's what killed on road for me years ago, lack of realism, that and the Stratus parade!

wait wait wait....everybody pump your brakes....I hate those big 12th scale bodies...just as much as TC bodies....I think they have a place but not here...

I just want that clear that USGT is about true production type cars that you might see on the street, in most upper class neighborhoods..lol..

I dont want ppl taking some stupid "loop hole" in some crazy car co. mind to "cheat" to get into a class, knowing dang well it is BS...and racing rc classes, ppl will do the same...

so as of now, none of those type of bodies will be allowed to compete at the 2011 USVTA Southern Nationals in Music City ,USA

paint up something "real" without loop holes.....thank you for your time and my money

Myron Kinnard

and if you are not sure what it should look like, here are some examples
