can anybody tell me what tires the usgt tire compares to? i just bought a set and they are very soft. just wondering what they are comparable to. i mounted mine on ride 16 spoke wheels. the carcass seems to flatten out considerably. im used to running d compound hpi vta tires. our classes out here in northwest they combine usgt and vta into scale spec. and everybody runs d compound. i can make them work well but im making an attempt to split the classes for the winter. well thats the idea. the tires are very inexpensive even with rims. less expensive than a full set of vta tires and wheels. so let me know what they compare to. thanks in advance.

now is that on carpet? what about asphalt? there is only one track that i would use these at on asphalt. all the other tracks i use the vta tires as thats the rules for scale spec.

your missing my point. im trying to get as much info available to present this to the committee to get our scale spec class separated. i want to run the nat point system but with our classes combined it wont happen. i want to present tire cost factors and compound comparability and other factors to the committee. I would also like to know what the durability and how long the tires last on pavement and on carpet. im would gather the tires last fairly long on carpet. i can run a set of vta tires a full season on carpet. but the vta tires get pretty chewed on pave. so im wondering what the pave situation is. how long they last etc.. i want more than its just a spec tire so what does it matter kind of answer.

You can expect a few weekends of racing on pavement with the Ride spec tires. I am on my first set, that I have been running on carpet, since Dec. and and have 2 outdoor races on. There seems to be plenty of tread left, for a couple more race days. They are a very good "all-around" tire and you can't beat the cost. I see 17.5 and Mod racers going through a set of slicks a week.

thanks for the great input. will be showing these to a few of the racers to get their input. will be putting these thru the paces soon.

yeah i know. just trying to see if we can split usgt from the vta cars. nobody cares about paint jobs or anything. but it would be nice to be able to compete in the national points system. thats what i m after.

For those who still have an open radial tire selection at their tracks and like to have the flexibility with a wider range of offsets offered with 26mm wheels, then I would consider the RIDE 24026 tire which is the same compound as the USGT Spec tire:

I've tested various RIDE tires and they all perform identical for me on an outdoor parking lot asphalt track with medium grip... they usually last between 12-18 race days depending on how much tire sauce I use, where Paragon White has been doing well for me.

Is this the motor from Turnigy that seems to be the ticket??..http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dproduct=21954.... The price is just right.... Can I use any ROAR approved 21.5 motor??...... Can I put timing??
Really like this class and have a perfect chassis and body for it..... Plus I just ordered a complete mounted set of USGT tires from GravityRC.
Hoping to debut in less than 2 weeks!

They run a USGT class at RCMadness in CT. every weekend and a Trophy Race is coming up. I have a RevTech but didn't want to take it out of a car. Plan to run that car too..... If everything goes as planned, it would be a 21.5 weekend, with F1, USGT and TCS Mini.....
