I guess it wouldn't have made a big difference for Mike anyways.

If his clutch barely holds up for 20 minutes, then the quarter would have been his last race anyways.

I really don't understand why they would keep running those clutch shoes. There's gotta be a way to fit another shoe in there. Usually they are all pretty similar.

I hope Dankel's clutch is going to hold up longer!

Tanks are made of poly propylene, which can expand in the heat. It's really hot in Miami.

Now add "hot" fuel to the mix and you can be a few cc's over the limit in no time.

Default Hara's Tires

What kind of tires are those on Hara's car a few pages back? Love the black rims...where are they available in the states? (or at all?)

Thanks!

If anything, they are probably Zac Project tires.

Clutch disk material according to a post here on rctech xray thread!
Sorry for mike a true gentleman to the sport no matter what brand he used! I dont understand how come on the winternats he did not have any issues at all with the clutch! So much did the final design or material changed in 2 months!

Just being in the amain is an achievement!

Quite the opposite is true William, I have the highest respect for Mike. Mike and Barry B. are by far the most approachable and helpful guys I have met in my time in the US.

I'm really just flabbergasted why the wouldn't try to find a clutch shoe that works instead of basically throwing his WC chances out the window because of such a penny part.

Btw, this is what I posted on the Xray thread regarding Mike:

Have you been to any races lately, or at all?

I would think his nick name comes from races like the 2004 Winternationals, where he won the 1 hour sedan final, got back on the stand and won the 1hour 1/8th final as well. I was there it was VERY impressive.
Or maybe the WC in Lostallo, where he drove an absolute brilliant race and became vice champion.

Oh wait, that was all with Mugen!

Then you should probably go with the only win this RX8 has to show: Swaugzilla in Ft.Myers.

Maybe it's not Mike that is not on top of his game, but the car???

I guess Mike is gonna give you a big hug for that mindless comment of yours"

fyi, mike was using mugen clutch in his final. xray isn't the only brand with clutch issues at this track, i've seen serpent shoes go bad as well.

Does anyone know if there's a list out there od who's using what material?

Usually RedRc did statistics like that when they covered big events, but at this race their coverage is somewhat not up to their usual standards.

Maybe South Beach is to tempting

Anyways, I think I read soemwhere that there are no Sirio engines in Miami, at least no works engines.
I haven't seen RB mentioned anywhere, but there was a pic with Rody Roem and his Technopower engine.

In regards to bodies, I would like to know if anybody is using the Blitz R11 or if it's all PF.
