Built-In Cooling Fan for Receiver/Battery Box
Pretty good idea, but I don't know how hot the receiver really gets in the box. Any idea?

I think it's a great way to get dirt into the recivier.

or suck the dirt in easier to pull it in then to blow it out

Enough dirt gets into the receiver box that the wouldn't really make a difference. I just remember Futaba having problems with over heating receivers.

Stupid quiestion, why does the receiver even need to be inside an enclosed box? Does dirt hurt it? I no rain would destroy it but seriously if guys r melting them because it's the hot summer then rain isn't really an issue why not just put them in a safe place outside the receiver box so it can get air. I don't really see them getting smashed inside a truck, with buggy it might need more sensitive placement but there putting batteries on mudguards these days without issues so maybe there's no issue.

Good question as a lot of electric cars/trucks dont have receiver boxes.
I think it has to do with nitro cars getting fuel on the receiver as a lot of them dont like it and if you still run crystals you can pack the receiver in foam in a box a lot easier.
Also it keeps the wires tidy and looks cleaner overall...its just human nature to put something in a box

I say the fan is a bad idea. Weather its pushing air out or sucking it in, still thats a large opening for dust. I dont know about you guys, but I paid too much for my Rx to have crap all over it
besides, I highly doubt it even geats that hot. Local races around here you have like what, 5min heats (then time to cool). Then a good 20min main (then time to cool). All I do is when im finished with a heat or race I simply open the Rx box, open the battery box to take battery out and charge or swap, and stick a small fan in front of the entire buggy and let it blow on the buggy while I track marshall.
