Okay guys, Im thinking of getting a XXX-S. I know that is isn't a right answer to which is better Losi or Associated, nor do I like asking the question. But instead let me refrase it. What are some of the advantages into buying an XXX-S over the TC3? Can someone please endulge my curiosities for a second or two?

I would wait for the graphite losi thats coming out or you can buy one from shrekair if he is still selling it. The losi is faster and transions better in my 1 cent and parts are preaty easy to find

Advantages of the Losi over the TC3
1. easier to drive
2. carries more cornerspeed
3. handles better

Things they share in common:
1. parts support is great everywhere
2. easily tuned
3. easily built and maintained
4. easy to get hopups for

Advantages the TC3 has over the Losi
1. It accelerates harder due to the "shaft"

I know many will agree just like many will disagree but this is my .02 cents.

TSR6: like psycho, i too use the one way grease of HPI. its comes in a very small container with a blue screw on cap. if you've got some friends at track running those pro3s, im sure u can ask them for some. the lube is rather thick so a small amount is all you need.... and they stay on for quite a while. just spray out with motor spay and re-lube every once in a while and you're good to go.

Hi Dan, I was running a TC3 (Team version) I did like the car, but got enough cash together to buy a Losi as well... I really like the corner speed of the Losi compared to my TC3, I raced it properly for the first time a couple of weeks ago and won the B final with it. Previous best was a 3rd with the TC3.
The Losi for me means ordering parts thro' the LHS but the TC3 had most of the parts in stock.
I find the Losi easy to work on and easy to set up, the belt will skip a bit under braking but it's not an issue.
Later,
Pete.

when i run on foams i run an overdrive by trueing down the rear tires more. would there be any advantage by using the different pulley and haveing the same tire diameter. also when you run the different pulley and you want to work out the rollout which pulley do you go by, the big or the small.

I used my Team1 lube. I havent put in on the track, but the tire spin method seems much smoother after re-building it.

I mean that I cut up some old foams into a big stip and stuck it to the chassis outside the pack, I haven't tried it out properly yet (ie crashing it) but it looks like it'll work. I was a bit sleepy and forgot to explain what I meant

ausracer: here you go

front:
57 piston 60wt oil Losi black spring
toe 0
camber -2
kickup 2F
caster block 4
droop 2
Low rollcenter
shock tower #2
camber link #3
arm spacing forward
TRC Plaid tires

rear:
56 piston 50wt oil Losi black spring
toe 2
camber -2
pivot support 0R
low rollcenter
droop 4
shock tower #2 outside on arm
camber link #1 B
arm spacing forward
TRC Purple tires

NO oneways, run FULL DIFFS, ride height at 4.5mm all the way around. This should be a good setup with good steering yet easy to drive.

A lot of questions.

1. What is the reason to use negative kick-up in the front like the indoor foam setup suggest by Todd?

2. Is it possible to try that negative front kick-up with the standard high roll-center?

3. BTW, why is high rollcenter better? How does it change the handling (foams on carpet)? I would like to know it before I dremel my chassis.

4. What tool (tool number please) do you use in your dremel working on the chassis?

the lower the kickup the more agressive the steering will be but it won't handle well on bumpy surfaces that's why they are using this on carpet since these tracks are normally very smooth and normally shorter and much tighter than outdoor tracks so you want the more agressive steering response.

As far as low rollcenter goes, the car initiates the turns better and tends to carry more cornerspeed this way.

I don't know the answer to question #2.

Dremel tool #408 Sanding Band 60 grit works very well.
