What clutch are you using? Any chance of pictures?

Do you mean to say that if you place your car on the ground and manually push it the clutch is engage so forceably that the wheels drag?

Or are you saying you have a new engine that has a pinch so thight you have to heat the cooling head for the shaft to complete a full turn?

With a 3 show clutch, you will need a quick change engine mount, You will need a different clutch bell as the clutch bell from losi is smaller.

When you take the engine off the chassis, do your clutch bell roll smoothly?
If it does make sure your alignment of the bell and the spur is correct.
heat your engine before starting.

thanks for all the input but i tore apart my engin because i knew it wasnt the cluth because i put it in my other buggy and it worked fine. so when i was in the process of taking apart my engin i found that the piston sleeve is not right. it tapers up to the top (bottom is a larger diameter). i do not know how that happens but guess the guy i bought it from knew this that is why he sold it.

so if anyone knows how to fix it without buying a new sleeve for around $75 that would be great. my dad suggested honing it out. anyother ideas would be great.

thanks TQ

Are you saying the sleeve gets smaller at the top cuz thats what its supposed to do! Thats how you get the pinch in the top of the sleeve and where all your compression is made. Without the taper you have no compression and your engine doesnt run at all. Do not get rid of the taper you will ruin the sleeve!

Is the engine brand new or was it recently pinched?

If so you are encountering something called mechanical pinch. You will need a heat gun (a hair dryer is not strong enough) to heat that sucker up too at least 220-230 degrees. That will help start the engine and begin the break-in process.
