What clutch bearings are you guys running? Ive been running avids and keep blowing them out at about a half gallon. Need some other options........

avid bearings cant handle the heat, i use them for wheel bearings and they are awesome, the avids for clutch were not. ive been using tko ceramic bearings, they last forever and they have extended the life of my clutch

avid, answer-rc, abec-35, TKO, . I check my clutch after qualifiers and then after any longer main and replace them if needed.

Which reminds me....I need to find a filter oil that will go two gallons...

I'm having to change filters after one gallon....LOL

I just bought some answer bearings. Little more expensive then avid so hopefully a little bit better. The avids that I was running were not even lasting a half gallon.

thats if you buy the dollar clutch bearings , get some tko bearings no need to change them. intill after a gallon, or so say smooth for a long time.

I use the dollar bearing, I run one set for the qual then change to new ones for the main, I dont want to chance ruining any gears, fuel tank and clutch trying to get more out of a set of bearing....

I use $1 protek metal shielded bearings. I use an RPM bearing blaster and nitro spray to blast the grease out, and oil them with Racers Edge modified bearing oil. They will last around a gallon or so if you want them to. I just change them every club weekend, or before a long main at a big race.

I have been meaning to give the TKO's a shot but their always on backorder when I make my Amain orders.

carolina r/c has some tko clutch bearings in stock.

when you blow the grease out of the clutch bearings, do you leave one side without the shield, or do you put the seal back on?

trust me man if you get a set of, tko bearings you wont have to worry about that problem.
