2010 GT Class Rules

All brands of cars that fit into the following rules are permitted to compete in the GT class.

These rules allow for some "racer inovations" to flourish, but at the same time will maintain the spirit of the class.

1. Chassis: Any 1/8 Buggy/Truggy based and shaft driven chassis GT nitro cars.

(Any manufacture or off-road racer conversions are OK also.)

Cars can only use commercially available production

aluminum lower chassis plates. No carbon fiber lower chassis

plates are permitted.

2. Body: Any commercially available "GT" race car stylr/type body. Must look

like a car that could actually be driven on the street with a passenger

in real life or full scale. The engines cooling head fins can not be

exposed from the top or the sides of the body. Rear wing or

spoiler must be attaxhed to the actual body. (No chassis mounted

or "buggy/truggy" type wing mounts).

3. Tires must

fit under the car's body from overhead view. Adding "fender flairs"

on the body to increase tire coverage is not allowed. No "foam"

tires permitted.

4. Fuel Capacity: All cars can have 1 fuel tnak with a maximum capacity of

150cc.

5. Diffs: Cars must be equiped with standard gear diffs only. No "TCD"

type diffs are permitted.

6. Clutch: No "adjustable" or "slider" type clutches allowed. Only 2, 3, or 4

shoe buggy based systems are allowed.

7: Engine: Cars can use any of the engines from the "Approved" list. All spec

engine internal parts must remain 100% un-modified factory stock.

Racers may remove the "Pull-Starter" from Approved engines and

replace the back plate. The engine's crankshaft and all internal

parts must remain "100% un-modified factory stock".

Its excellent that the “GT Spec Class” rules being utilized for the “Byron’s Fuels” event at “Leisure Hours”are solid.

We should all 100% understand & respect tham.

It’s going to be a great summer!

Decided to pull this to the top. Should be an exciting weekend! With the track being closed for Fathers Day this Sunday, a good alternative is the TEAMNITRO club track in Portage IN- http://www.teamnitrorcracing.com This club is also hosting the 3rd leg of the MWS, July 10,11.
The race day this weekend is SATURDAY! Hope to see some LH guys there.

10 min Quals would be nice! What's the schedule for this race and can we sign-up at the track?

Seeing as my usual pitman can't make this race, 10 min quals would bring back nightmares. The last time I ran 10 minute quals with a volunteer pitman he started squeezing the fuel bottle before he even picked up the car. My car "cried" fuel for half a lap after that stop.
Either way I'll be there for some fun. Sounds like a lot of people are planning on making the trip....a lot of fast guys too.

We have added a few motors to list of spec motors and removed some.
This will be the motor list for The Byron race and the GT Nats spec motors.

Elec Gt's will follow Gt rules on chassis any motor and 4 cell lipo only.

Hey there, last year I ran the dynamight .28 big red. Is this engine still legal or I didn't see it on the list and it is only 140.00. Was it just forgoten about or was it excluded for a reason. Can someone let me know.
