.
Think they'll be available in time for the ROAR nationals in 2 weeks??

I'd love to try them on Jackson's track

I honestly have no clue. I actually machined my own when I first got the car. I see that Spec R makes lowered shock towers though, so that could be a good alternative untill the official HB ones are available.

It's because of the piston position in the shock. When you lower the tower itself, it moves the piston further up inside the shock body. This results in a smaller volume of oil on top of the piston, so the shock packs up a lot less. The pack that is normally developed with the taller towers makes the car feel really locked in and stable. The lowered towers make the car feel aggressive and more edgy.

Okay the pack is what make the differnce...Hmmmm
What if you lenghten the shock shaft longer from the ball cup?

You can. It's pretty similar in feel. The lowered towers are kind of nice on the TCX because the preload collars aren't all the way down on the shock body.

Now you me got confused
by lenghten by the ball cup
you shouldn't have to change the the collars position..I'm missing something?
Now if yopu pick up the car ..yes the control arms will hang down more..but you have the grub screw control the up travel...

My friend said the same thing, the shock towers should have sameaffect as changing the shock length 2mm. Also dont forget the shock angle will be different with shock towers, instead of hole 3 all round it would be hole 2.5

....it isn't so much about the piston it's the angle of the shock postion changed...
Now .. I see what your saying thanks....

Hi Antoni,

I'm also using the Capricorn diff for the rear.

Are you still using the original rear HB belt? I am but it's a very tight fit.

Cheers

Alan

Also interested in some of the mods you have made to the capricorn diff

Korey said when he made his, he accounted for shock angle so the holes would give the same angles as the stock tower.

With the stock shock towers, the shocks are extended pretty far to get the correct downtravel. In order to get the springs set with enough preload to maintain a proper ride height, the preload collars are way down in the range of the body. With the lowered towers, the preload does not need to be set in such a way. Its not a functional thing, just something I noticed that was kind of nice. The most important change with the shock towers is the piston position change In my opinion.

Yes it it.... I actually posted pics of mine in this thread and the cyclone thread. In a nutshell, you need the following:

A bunch of diff spacers, I used the thicker ones - don't know the exact thickness off hand

Bearings with a smaller internal diameter - 2 new ones for each bulkhead. You need these because the bearings aren't riding on the molded shoulder anymore because of all the spacers - the bearings are riding, and not supporting, the metal outdrives on the diff

You'll also need the blades for the outdrives - the Spec-R diffs are made for blades, so you'll need them as well

It just takes some patience to center the diff correctly so that you have the pulley lined up with the belt and the same amount of outdrive sticking out of the bulkhead on ech side

Other then that, very simple

Ok, thank you very much, i see is not dificult to make.
You mount the TCX gear diff ? , and you test in track, some problems, tricks?

The Schumacher diff is 29.2mm wide, bearing to bearing, the TC are 27.8, not to be
