Well, on mine atleast the cross piece that the two little bearings sit into that attaches to the two cranks has opened up, which creates alot of play for me. The only trick to curing it is to dap a bit of super glue inside where the bearings sit, so they fit snugly, but soon enough the play is back. Im pretty sure this is why most of the other cars out there have changed the design so that the cross part attatches on top of the cranks rather than below.

The steering issue may be an isolated problem. I have zero slop or binding. It has worked flawless and freely.

If at any point the steering rack came loose and was operated that way the end result would be abnormal wear and tear.

I had a post loosen but I found nothing wrong with it. The top brace kept it in place and the screw that backed out showed no carpet burns.

Just replace the worn part and be done with it.

Never has come loose, it still does it's job, but the aluminium i find is soft and has opened up, same with my layshaft and same with my spool.

The steering rack is £60 over here! HB don't sell the parts seperatly.

On the Yokomo it is recommended to glue the bearings in to remove slop, I would assume it would help on most cars with double crank steering also. My car has no issues.
