I would think it's not designed specifically for the rear of the car. I'm sure it will it fit rear and front, just like the ball diffs can fit both sides.

umm....I don't think gears can slip unless they're stripped

The wheels will be able to rotate individually, unlike a spool where the wheels are locked...

No maintenance is great in the rear, and it allows the car to rotate better. When used in the front it cuts down drive line wear ALOT.
