difference between setup M03 & M05
Hi there,
I'am racing for a year with the M03. I briefly bought an M05 chassis.
I driving with the Tamiya 54000 M-Chassis Aluminum Damper Set on the M03. I want to mount them on the M05.
Can anyone give me some setup racing tips for the M05.
Tips such as: what front/rear spring, thickness oil, what damper plates, wich insert in the front/rear tire.?

the car was quick , stable and had loads of corner speed on out indoor track in Tynaarlo
fully rebuilt and he is running

TRF shocks (mini type) with 300 oil all round
yellow front springs
red rear springs
2mm spacer on toe tierods (toe out)
Adjustable upper arms rear (1mm spacer between the joint ends)
3Racing steering mechanism
3Racing battery holder
Tamiya Alloy front uprights
Tamiya alloy motor mount
Tamiya DF03 heat sink bars
Tamiya Alloy steering connector rod
Titanium screw set
TRF servo saver
silvercan and stock speedo

hi Roel,
For me if track grip is low (irregardless of asphalt or carpet) i try soft springs (Tamiya Neon yellow front, Neon blue rear). If grip goes up, harder springs.
Tires I usually run S grips all around in asphalt. Key is to use traction compound. On carpet, M-grip all around on low grip, then when grip level goes up might need to go S-grip front to remove traction roll. Hard inserts front, soft or hard inserts rear.
Just some more M05 tuning items. Hope these work for you.

The idea behind the super glue is to stop grip roll
i like to use M Grips all round and indoors this causes grip roll

On the M03 i ony glued the front tyre's, that was enough to stop the grip roll.
I will try it with all four wheel's.

I've been playing with my mo5 for a while and getting it dialed into our local low traction carpet track.
With my mo5 (m) I run
yellow front, red rear springs,
550cst much more oil all round,
1.1mm 3hole pistons all round
ackerman, rear hole on steering,
zero toe front,
1.5deg rear toe,
zero front camber,
2.5deg rear camber,
lowest ride height you can get away with, mine is 3mm all round
modded rear wishbones to bring wheelbase to 227.5mm (way better than STD)
HPI Saturn 15t motor
MRT mx pro esc
KO servo,
yeah racing lipo, w/70gramms lead under and around the servo
Tamiya S grips with kit inserts
swift shell...
Absolutely dialed....
I cab show any pics of the car as it's been donered for my Xevo converstion. But I'll get some pics of the rear wishbone mod. This was the biggest difference we found, assuming your club allows this it's worth a try,
